BleedClaretAndBlue
Gerrard when he first came in said he will be a big player for us didnt he so clearly rates him. Somewhere a long the line during his contract here surely will get a run of starts. Never seen such a stop-start beginning to a £15m signing’s time here
Kiwivillan
I'm biased as from what I've seen he's a baller at peak and I know many have written him off because of his stop start Villa career but that last training video it was like the Morgan Sanson highlight reel Edit: I didn't even read the previous post before posting but the stop start is real Edited January 30, 2022 by Kiwivillan
KevinRichardsonsMoustache
In today’s market, £15m doesn’t usually buy you a lot of player. Sanson looks tidy. Hope he can get the run of games he needs.

We are a lot less passive when out of possession and actually press as a team. He always shows for the ball. And whilst that led to the mistake against United you need players willing to do this to actually keep possession against the best sides. He also has a nice cross on him and some lovely skills as well. I hope we give him some more run to get the best out of him. Sanson has a fantastic first touch also. I hope he gets a run of games to prove the doubters wrong. Look how Emi2 was able to shut the haters up.
MotoMkali
Hopefully starts next week in place of mcginn. Thought mcginn was exposed time and time again down the right. And whilst Luiz didn't have a great game either. I think mcginn didn't do the job Gerrard wants him to do which is to cover outwide. Cause every time there was a 2 on 1 against cash or konsa (though he was truly abysmal). Decent attacking performance form mcginn though.
Delphinho123
He isn’t playing because the management team obviously don’t rate him. And it was the same before Gerrard arrived. I hope he’s a world beater like everybody else but it’s obviously just not the case otherwise he’d be playing.

Honestly, dropping McGinn for the weekend is not going to happen. We have far more things to worry about right now.
VillaChris
Should've been on at 3-2 up, think his ratting around their midfield would've been effective. Carney didn't do much at all so think Gerrard got that call wrong.
MaVilla
not gonna lie, if i were him tonight, and Young got on in front of me, i would be thinking my time here is over. I hope it isnt, but thats what i would be thinking.
Zatman
If i was him I would be calling my agent and asking for a transfer immediately. Put a kid on and a 37 year old in midfield while we kept on a dreadful McGinn

Buendia or Coutinho for Sanson with Ramsey or McGinn pushing forward was the best option

We needed to change things around. One of him or Luiz will be gone in the summer.

It's amazing how many people don't realise this simple point. Its obvious he's been a waste of money. Two kids have surpassed him in the pecking order. The management teams jobs depend on results and as such, they pick the best team to try and get those results. Gerrard and Smith didn't leave Sanson out for fun, they left him out, and he continues to be left out, because they obviously don't rate him highly enough to play many minutes. Popular Post Sulberto21
Sanson’s energy was needed yesterday. Leeds and Bielsa teams are always going to outwork you. Second half Sanson’s legs would have given us a little more of a foothold.

I think you're connecting certain points to draw your own outline and picture for why Sanson hasn't featured. I'd say there's more to it than he simply isn't rated highly enough to command minutes. hippo
I think there is a middle ground. IMO he is a more than capable squad player. I don't see him as a regular starter - but I would have brought him on last night.

Falling out with the manager? Fitness again? Doesn't fit the tactics for some reason? I find all these much less likely than the manager simply doesn't rate him all that much.
