Lewinski has been interviewed many times and not once has she ever hinted at that. it’s a facet of the metoo movement though and wouldn’t be ignored today. But only in the interest of partisan politics and not for any principled reasons.

They would do the same in 2021 if it happened to Biden, so I guess the initial musing of "I wonder how things would change now in light of the #MeToo movement" could be answered with "not much at all".

Sadly probably the correct take. At the very least I’d hope popular culture (late night talk shows etc) would be on her side these days instead of making jokes about her being a slut. StefanAVFC
Hang on a minute. Are we really both-siding sexual assault? Roy Moore, Trump, Kavanaugh. Just in the last 4 years. Franklin, didn't even commit sexual assault and he's gone. It just isn't honest at all.

I don't think it would be any different.

Clinton didn't suffer any electoral penalty because he wasn't up for re-election. He was impeached in 1998 towards the end of his 2nd term.

HanoiVillan
Susan Collins wins reelection in Maine. This completes an extremely bad election in the Senate for Dems, in which they have got essentially the worst possible realistic result. A remarkable thing about this election is how little Biden carried on his coattails. He's looking all-but-certain to win the big prize, but it's a horrible performance for Democrats at every level downballot, in the Senate, the House, and in state houses as well. Maybe this was a result of Biden doing comparatively little face-to-face campaigning until late in the race; maybe it's the result of making the election a referendum on Trump; maybe it's a feeling that Democrats don't have a positive agenda; maybe it's something else. But it is going to leave Biden facing big difficulties governing. Edited November 4, 2020 by HanoiVillan
