It would be good to give him some minutes, but this season is probably too early as who would we leave off the bench for him? Traore? Davis? If they are under 18 league 1 or league 2 if they are 20/21 send them to the championship and if they aren't ready sell them before the contracts expire even if it isn't for much it keeps the academy being funded. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Obviously we should not rely on him or expect him to have the impact those above mentioned had from the get go but I don't see any harm in him being introduced during the season. If he keeps developing like he has then he deserves a shot this season though. It's about time we stop being too cautious playing youngsters, particularly when we have nothing to lose. I'd say Chukwuemeka looks closer to being ready for the first team but, as a midfielder, he's also more likely to cause us problems if he makes mistakes. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Admittedly I never watched youth games back then, but I never saw anything from Hepburn Murphy that suggested he'd make it at a high level.
