Archer 18 months ago was playing on loan non league and not making any waves. Kept working hard kept improving and then last summer had the opportunity to play with the 1st team squad and took his chance. Instead of stamping his feet after a great preseason he did what the club thought was best for his development which was out on loan. Took his chance on loan has come back, again without some Billy chuck bollocks and had another good preseason, and again was prepared to do what the club thought was best for his development. 3 years of a contract to run, and gets a pay rise and 5 year deal to reward his development. Really pleased with both archers attitude to being a footballer his respect towards the club and his continued improvement. This sends the best message to the academy players, that think you are bigger than the club you will be gone, stay humble and respectful and get the backing you need at that age. Like everyone else, I hope he gets a fair amount of game time this season and takes his chances. When we are winning would actually be the best time to bring him on currently. Would love for us to be say, 3 - 0 up and in control of a game, then he comes on and delivers the death blows I can picture him gaining confidence with Premier League goals and going on to be devastating.
