I remember when we signed him that was supposed to be his strength, but it was nowhere to be seen. Ehhh, I think he's always had it in his locker. He's clearly got it in his bag to beat a man and draw a foul. It's just I think when he's playing at CB he's not confident in doing it. He tries to be more risk averse to the point that he'll never even attempt to make a pass into the wingers feet bypassing the full back. Or will only carry the ball forward a couple of times a season despite him being fast, strong and good with the ball at his feet.

Now he does all of that which surprised me. He's not Pau or Diego levels granted, but he's miles from where he was 12 months ago

Rustibrooks
For Ezri’s sake, please choose to play for either Portugal or D.R Congo. Southgate is not going to pick him.

Hopefully he’s considering either 3 of those countries to represent because he deserves to be a consistent international player
Leeroy
I'm a fan of Tomori and Colwill bit the fact Maguire is in there is a joke, and I never rated Dunk either. If Konsa's eligible to play for Portugal and they want him he should go for it.
Mantis
Really should declare for Portugal. Wouldn't have a problem getting picked for them at all.

Vive_La_Villa
If he opts for Portugal we’ll only have Watkins left to be ignored by Southgate. Ramsey too at some point.

Not sure playing for Roberto Martinez alongside a washed up player or two from the Saudi league is much better tbh

Tom13
Fair points (forgot Martinez was coach) but I think even he would have the brain to give an intelligent defender like Konsa a chance.
one_ian_taylor Posted August 31, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted August 31, 2023 Would have been my man of the match had he not been taken off at hlf time. So solid and assured, which I think helped Pau do his thing
mikeyp102
He was marshalling the defensive line well, seems he’s rising to the occasion of being the organiser of the defence in Mings absence.
