MachoFantastico
I like Dean a lot, but I do think it's the right decision. Provided some great memories though.
MessiWillSignForVilla
Such a strange feeling to be so sad a manager has been sacked yet it's completely the right decision
Popular Post KentVillan
A very good man who played a major role in turning this club around. Can see why he’s been sacked, but he should leave with his head held high.
Popular Post Derryvillan
He did us and probably importantly for him his dad proud. Best of luck in the future.
striker Posted November 7, 2021 Visiting Supporter Share Posted November 7, 2021 Also gutted for Smith but it’s been coming since end of last season due to performances. I guess it’s going to be Stevie G now with Purslow at Villa?
Skruff
Felt that every player was improving season by season under his guidance. This season had been terrible though. Poor defending, poor pressing, no possession on the ball, no patterns of play or attacking plan. Just stressed players quickly hitting the ball up the channels hoping for magic to happen. I do wonder where it all went wrong? I'm sad to see him go, I'd really hope he'd turn it around. Thanks for everything Dean and best of luck.
Peter Griffin
Thanks for the memories Dean. You will be remembered really well at Villa but unfortunately time had come to go our separate ways
KMitch
I'm gutted as well... By far our best manager of my time supporting the Villa.
Hank Scorpio
This one actually hurts doesn't it. Inevitable but still hurts. Thanks for some nice memories for a change!
Zero7
So so sad, feel gutted for him. He will always be held in high regard by the fans. Wish him well and I think he would do well at somewhere with less ambition like Norwich..we need to get this right

VillaAlex
Never been so emotional over someone leaving the club even if it was the right thing. I think it's because of what a great guy Dean is and that he's one of us.
Indigo
I'm gutted but it was inevitable. Love the guy and all he's done for us, hope every fan will now be able to view his time as nothing but a resounding success and from the perspective that he left us in a place we could barely have imagined he would have been when he took over. Wish him all the best and will definitely become a mini-fan of any side he takes over next. Up the Deano.

Zatman
Sad day but it was coming, probably the best Villa manager in the last 20 years and brought the good times back.
regular_john
Gutted. Absolutely gutted. Having a die hard Villa fan as manager, improving year on year, I knew it was too good to last. Thanks, Dean.
Popular Post OutByEaster? Posted November 7, 2021 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted November 7, 2021 It's an odd feeling to see a manager sacked and understand it but still have a lot of good feeling for the fella. This isn't the way it usually goes, and I think that's a credit to the man. Fare well Dean.
Popular Post JAMAICAN-VILLAN
I knew it had to happen, but I can't help but feel overwhelmingly sad if i'm honest. I hope he gets a nice and respectful send off. Would be nice if fans could some how let him know that he is appreciated for all he has done for us, and will always be " one of our own ".
