bobzy
Games at 30 minutes a half and the clock only counting when the ball is in play is a good thing IMO. Can also see merit in 5 minute "sin bins" for yellow cards, but they need to re-evaluate what a yellow card is given for. For those cynical shirt pulls, though, I like it. The other points seem to add nothing.

Popular Post sne
Quote Barça resigns from sponsoring H&M for political reasons The club fears reprisals from China for collaborating with the Swedish brand, which a few months ago denounced the existence of labor camps with people from the Uighur minority Barça had been negotiating with H&M for months for the textile company to become the new sponsor of the men's football team's walking clothes, but the Swedish brand's commitment not to use cotton from the Chinese region of Xinjiang for the alleged use of forced labor in the sector has led to the cessation of talks, which were already at a very advanced point. The reason is that the Barça entity does not want to create conflicts with China, a huge market that today contributes many millions of euros and potential users. Club sources have told ARA that the main fears came from a sector of the communications department and from the Catalan office in Hong Kong. Barça officials were very transparent with H&M when it came to explaining why they had decided to leave the issue on standby : they did not want to create problems with the Asian giant. On the other hand, the official version of the entity is that there is no negotiation about to close with a brand to be in charge of making the first team's walking clothes and that right now this asset is not a priority because there are other much more pressing issues. https://www.ara.cat/esports/barca-renuncia-patrocini-motius-politics_1_4059712.html "Mes que un club" 4 2

Only concern is, if Fifa, Uefa etc can "control the clock", expect mid game ads, maybe even the equivent of a 2 minute warning (glorified ad break) etc.

And this mess will never be fixed without real transfer fee caps and wage caps, and some kind of competetive balance financial redistribution mechanism. A closed, elite league (the "Super League" if you will) with salary caps is the beginning - and that proposal has only died down for a little while. You better believe it'll come back. After all, what better way to keep the elite teams elite whilst ensuring they/their owners get as rich as possible? Introduce a salary cap and ensure all players want to join. Absolute winner. Well, I’d say it’s entirely possible to impose spending caps, income redistribution and competetive balance mechanisms without setting up closed leagues. I don’t want European football to become an identical replication of American sports.

Change it so you can only spend maximum of 50m in a transfer window too. Bring everything back down as the fees are actually insane. I remember when the original Ronaldo went for £25m, my teenage mind was blown, that was an insane amount for a player. What’s that get you now?! Phil Silvers
The super league will happen in some form or another. I just hope it's not just another champions league type affair. Much better that certain clubs just **** off and leave this league to flourish without them.
