TRO
I think the sheer inertia of this pending signing will shake the whole football club......and everyone outside of B6 will have a different view of us. from Bookmakers to opposing players......It will have an effect.

I think it would also be to have him as a poster boy and because Tony wants to beat Birmingham to the signing.

John Terry would have been a coup for a lot of Premier League sides. The fact that we managed to do it as a Championship side is nothing short of positive imo.
alreadyexists Posted June 29, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted June 29, 2017 I really hope we get him... as @bannedfromHandV said; he's a winner. A back 4 of Bree. Chester. Terry. Taylor would be bloody good. No offence to Baker as he's been good, but Chester and Terry as a centre back pairing is tantalising.

Phumfeinz
That back 4 wouldn't look out of place in the PL imo.

Not to come in and be a major first team player, not to come in and be a leader on the pitch but to change the mindset of the club. Maybe I'm completely wrong but I genuinely think this is the primary train of thought around signing him. Whatever else you might think of him he's a winner, we have been losers for years now, if he can help bring about a change in club culture then frankly, whatever we pay him is insignificant. I'm not saying you're wrong, but that seems like a very expensive way to inspire motivation.
Popular Post ThunderPower_14
I think people are underestimating the effect on-field leadership can have on a club. Remember a couple of years ago when the players were basically totally out of control, unfit, didn't look like they cared, slagging off fans on twitter and the like? Culture is everything and getting people in who have a positive influence on your culture can completely turn a club around.

He's not- he's dropping down because he doesn't want to move abroad and we're the ones who have so far seemingly offered the best contract. Nar not buying that. Premier league clubs who want him could offer double what we have offered. Even Celtic are in for him and offering champs league. He wants to work with bruce and help him complete the brief. Get us up this yr end of. He isn't here for a mid table championship experience. It's silly to think otherwise.
