Farlz
Isn't it about time he had a thread? Things seem to be moving in the right direction - Quote Aston Villa have stepped up their bid to sign John Terry by making a concrete offer to the former England captain. Villa are making a serious play for Terry and have now submitted a contract proposal which is being considered by the 36-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Chelsea. Telegraph Sport understands Terry has over ten "realistic" offers from clubs around the world but Villa have taken a significant step forward in the last 24 hours. Bournemouth, West Brom, Swansea, Birmingham and clubs in China and the MLS are all battling to sign Terry, who is likely to make a decision within the next fortnight. But Terry is refusing to close the door on extending his career in the unlikely surroundings of the Championship, with Villa's offer understood to be lucrative and loaded with bonuses and incentives that could take the terms over £4million a year. Other offers and counter-offers are expected to be made in the next few days as the race hots up. Terry did hint at retirement during his tearful farewell at Stamford Bridge in May but he is determined to continue playing. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/06/21/aston-villa-make-concrete-offer-john-terry/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_tw
Popular Post terrytini
Already said this elsewhere. Simple question. Woukd you rather have him in your squad or see him in the oppositions? A no brainer for me. I don't like (what little I know of) the man, but as a defender and a character on the field it's hard to think of any better in the last ten years. His desire alone will be worth ten - priceless- points. A coup.
Popular Post 7392craig
I've said it before, he won't allow players around him to drop their heads when things aren't going our way. 100% behind this.
Xela
As a player he's a born winner and give his all on he field. Plus as stated above he won't tolerate people not putting a shift in. As a person... no comment!
Phumfeinz
I imagine the challenge was put forth as thus: "Captain Aston Villa to promotion to cap off a glittering career." This and Ledley would be two very excellent reinforcements to the spine of our team.

Popular Post Straggler
Terry is my Schrodinger's cat. If he signs I will like him, if he does not I will think of him as a clearing in the woods. Until the pen hits or does not hit the contract I am in a state of limbo where both states are equally possible.

Never occurred to me to describe it thus - very funny.

Eastie
Will score a few for us too as he's very good attackIng corners - strong defence will breed confidence and a couple more decent signings will really set us up nicely .
villa89
He's been finished for a while now and I only see him being a more expensive Tommy Elphick. It's one of the problems when you have a manager like Steve Bruce, he thinks signings like this are a great thing and they aren't.

We have not had players for years, who can read the game. when you get one .....as a fan......its a learning curve.
