17/18 Promotion Charge

This is league far too open at the moment.

It's hard to call who will get promoted. Most teams are as good as each other.

Fulham, Boro, Reading, Hull & Wolves all losing today..

We have as good of a chance as anyone.  This league is tougher than last season

Looks like it could be us competing against Ipswich for the title. Hmmmmmm

Mick McCarthy makes for a poor Bobby Robson though :P

But its not tougher than last season in an automatic promotion place sense.

The more open the better.

Don't think it is. Newcastle were nailed on to go up, and I think better teams went up with them than those remaining in this division.

I think we made it tough for ourselves last season.

We're 8 points behind the promotion places.

Long way to go, but last season we couldn't close an 8 point gap over 2/3's of a season.

We cannot fall any further behind, need a couple of wins in a row to get that gap down pretty sharpish.

Fridays game will show if we are serious about play offs. As it will be seen as another season of can win at home but lose away which wont be good enough for promotion. There is no reason why we cant beat Bristol City, even poxy blose beat them with 10 men!

Cardiff and Ipswich will lose plenty of times this season.  Table won't shake itself out for a while yet.

True, but so will we.
Need to keep pace right from the start, not spend the next few months playing catch up.

I'm not at all. I think Gary Monk is hugely overrated on here. Hugely overrated.

I don't think he is.

He's just miles better than Bruce and moved clubs this summer so was a bit more noticeable.

Bruce being as terrible as he is, mean people pine for the average on occasion.

I've been stressing that we need to be getting 3 points for the next few games to keep pace, however some people are very nonchalant about it.

A minimum of 3 points!
