i'm with ya. How soon will the bookies start letting us bet on Villa to win the 2017/18 Championship?

I would guess when they know for sure that we will be in it and who else will be (around play-off time).

I know its fantasy, but our next 4 games are very winnable which would put us on 60 points. Whilst playing those 4 games all the others ahead of us are playing each other so it feasible that 6th place may be on 67. Five games to go 7 points behind. It is just about possible isn’t it!

Ask me when that has actually happened!

I still think 75 points will be enough. There will be one team bottle it and one sneak in. It might be Fulham, it might not.

Win the next four as you say and who knows! Got to dream eh.

If we made the play offs we’d be on such an unbelievable run that we would win it and be promoted. Our promotion odds are currently 500/1 so if you have even an inkling that we may sneak in then well worth a tenner.

All of the remaining games are winnable, the tough ones being Brighton and Fulham (provided they continue their good form).

The thing is though, every game is winnable, I don't know about anyone else but during the slump over New Year I forgot that we're a big fish in this pond, I started expecting us to lose against Brentford and Barnsley and Ipswich and all these other shite little clubs, I think the players forgot too which fed the problem.

As has been said, we'd have to win every game and hope that a lot of other results go our way to sneak into the playoffs now, in terms of percentage it's what, a 1 or 2% chance at best? However, if we get there then I think we'd be nailed on to win it as we'd be flying, even if we don't but we carry on some good form for the remainder of the season it should set us up nicely for next season.....provided we hang on to key players (i.e. Kodjia, Chester and Baker)

Could do wonders for team spirit, strength and confidence.

Missing out on £100 m in TV money alone is hardly great thou.

This is shite, as well as more clubs inevitably being taken pver by multi billionaires and companies.

But it is better than potentially becoming a yo-yo club, which was the point I believe.

But there's nothing saying we won't be anyway, IF we even manage to go up next season.

Mine was similar to yours, although it seems you were more generous to us than i was.

Reading dropping out of top 6, Fulham in and us finishing 8th.

Sure, that's the risk every club has to take. Gladly.

However, the sides that survive are often those that go up with a settled squad that knows each others strengths inside and out, into which they inject a little bit of extra quality.

The last thing we should do, upon promotion, is attempt another rebuild. So if this team has to spend another year together and goes up settled and prepared, then that will be of benefit in the short, medium and long term.

If we go up, of course.
