I'm with this GK situation

Gollini Too young to rely on.

Bunn gone in the summer

Johnstone in till seasons end

So we have SJ as nr 1 - check

Bunn as nr 2 - ok

Gollini is homesick/ whatever

Jed S injured

Maybe SB has another keeper lined up and had to get rid of 1 gk?

As for next season

If we go up is SJ good enough for PL?

if not We can buy for the PL

If we dont go up will SJ want to stay?

Either way, Bunn is only good enough as nr 2 and leaves in July

We will have to evaluate in the summer for most positions if in PL or EFL

I can imagine the longterm plan is

1) next season in EFL

Gk SJ (if he stays) + JS

RB New Signing + RDL

LB NS + NS (Amavi will probably go)

CB Chester/Baker + YouthPlayer/NS

DM NS + Jedi

RW Adomah + YP/NS

LW YP + NS

CM JanWin signings + Tish & Gardner (Do not understand the GG deal)

AM JG + McC (Ayew will go)

CF Kodjia + NS + YP

If we are in PL

Gk NS/SJ  + JS

RB New Signing + RDL

LB Amavi + NS + NS

CB Chester NS Baker + YouthPlayer

DM NS + Jedi

RW Adomah + YP/NS

LW NS + YP

CM JanWin signings + NS + Tish

AM JG + Ayew

CF Kodjia + NS + YP

Yeh what he say's...

Dont know how reliable, but apparently interested in Egyptian striker Basem Morsy, along with Stoke and West Brom. He's also in the last six months of his contract, which makes it sound we are being much smarter with our money in this window anyway.

Why is he only £1m ? - I know his contact isn't long - but couldn't we just blow everyone else out of the water by offering £3m....

Because if they have already accepted 1 million from another club, that would just be stupid.

Seems a bit low all in all, or maybe means the Lansbury offer is a bit high in comparison. I imagine all the interested parties have made an informal pact to offer the same and let the player choose his club based on the wage offer.

I suppose it depends what the legal standpoint is.  If they've accepted a £1m bid (and that quote on the previous page doesn't say that btw, but for the purposes of the discussion ...) then are they entitled to reject it afterwards?  Or are they now bound by it?  If they are bound by it then there's literally no point in us bidding any more than the agreed £1m because it's still the player's decision where to go based on 2 accepted offers and there's nothing Barnsley can do about it.  But if they could reject the first bid then it is worth our while bidding more and therefore potentially becoming his only choice.

OK - So why didn't we bid the £1m on Jan 1 ?  - he could be our player of the year by now  !

In that midfield he wouldn't be far off :P  But most of the previous page is probably all speculation anyway.  Let's see what happens.
