If we can get a decent partner for him, if Elphick can't do it, then our defence is set and can be just as mean as last season. I sound like Bruce but if we can do that then there's no reason why we can't get play-offs at least as I believe we've got good options up front. Wages and a better chance to be in the Prem next season (via promotion). Those would be the things going for him at Stoke. BUT, I don't think it would be a huge swing. I imagine we pay Chester a fair whack anyway, and he could negotiate a new contract out of us because of this. The chance of promotion may be a factor, but he could probably get a move to a lower half prem club anyway if he was desperate to go to the Prem.
