No good guy with a gun jokes. Come on lads.  Slacking....

Still 2 people got shot dead.  The guy who went on a stabbing rampage on the rabbis the other say didn't kill anyone.  You're always going to get murderous bastards in the world but I'd rather my chances against a knife than a gun.

2019 currently running at 15,121 gun deaths excluding suicide. With approx 48 hours to go there’s still a chance 2019 could be top of the charts for gun death in the USA for the last 6 years. But at an average of 41 gun deaths a day and only 2 days left, they need something special if 2019 is going to clinch the title.

This latest shooting took place in a town called White Settlement

Had to google it and:

Quote

The name of "White Settlement" was originally bestowed upon the community by several Indigenous tribes in the area. The city got its name because it was the lone village of white pioneers amid several Native American encampments in the Fort Worth area in the Texas Republic territory in the 1840s.[4][5] On October 14, 2005, city leaders, citing hurdles in attracting businesses,[6] announced a plan to have local voters decide on a possible name change for the town from White Settlement to West Settlement. In the November 8 election, the name change was overwhelmingly rejected by a vote of 2,388 to 219

Might nod be very modern/pc but it's just an old place name. Plenty of White..... places in the UK too.

There is a Whiteparish & even got one of these (be careful if you're googling it in public ;) )

That's before you even think of looking at some of the street names and on the other end of the scale there's a village in Sussex called Blackboys & there must be 50 pubs called the black boy dotted around the uk, Try changing the name of one of them & it doesn't go down well

The city of Wuhan in China has been ‘isolated’ or put in to ‘lock down’ or had transport restricted, depending on your choice of media. It has a population of 11,000,000.

So that’s kinda roughly crudely the equivalent of putting Los Angeles and New York on lock down.

How long would it take to get to some filmic Armageddon end of days scenario in those cities if they were sealed off?

You can't really quarantine a city that big. It's probably more about the Chinese government trying to look like they've done something and hopefully maybe curb some spread, but realistically it's a sticking plaster on a stab wound.

It’s a great sensational story for the press. They’ve closed major roads, rail and airport. Other than that, there are 11 million people so as you say the concept of quarantine or lock down is quite relative. It’s a ‘lock down’ of a population larger than most European nations so there’s an element of media speak.

But there’s also an element of many Chinese under their regime being far more compliant than I suspect many of the flaky militia groups in the U.S. would be. They’d be straight in the back of pick ups patrolling the shit out of their neighbourhood and shooting anyone that looked like they could have the first signs of black.
