The French side are willing to offer £8.5million for the 22-year-old who cost Villa a similar amount when he joined from Nice in 2015. All it says about the dr is that he wants the player more than he needs the money, I see nothing but a positive in that, hopefully a sign of things to come, it's safe to say the previous regime would have sold him for less

Rejecting 25m for Jordan amavi is ridiculous and goes along way to explain why we were charged 60m for a load of shite in the summer. Phumfeinz
Awesome that we rejected it, but the seeds have been sown now and it's only a matter of time unfortunately. Hopefully we can keep hold of him until we get promoted at least.
obanken
Love that we rejected the offer. He is loaded, isn't he? Really hope we get promoted this year, if not then I can see our best players agents kicking up some fuss if Dr.Tony still rejects these kinds of offers.
Tommo_b
Reject it because we don't need to sell, great signs. Even if he isn't worth that much it makes a change for us not to sell our players to teams above us. Who cares how much he is really worth, we don't need to sell so we haven't, brilliant news.
Morley_crosses_to_Withe
The transfer window isn't even open. We haven't sold him yet. Let's all celebrate not selling him if he's still wearing a Villa shirt come Feb 1st.
Jareth
His value has gone from 10mill to 25 mill in a year - I wouldn't sell him yet either, he'll just get more valuable.
Nigel Posted December 28, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted December 28, 2016 The rejection (no matter if some think it should have been accepted) sends out a really strong message both both inside and outside the club! Kudos Dr Tony!
sne
Are we sure this rejected bid actually happened or could it be a precautionary thing to ward off any or at least low bids from Xia? Edited December 28, 2016 by sne
darrenm
"hi, I'm interested in your car. I know it's not for sale but I could give you £2000 for it?" "Nah, sorry mate. Sounds just like a Tom Fox special that... Grrrrrrrrr!!!!
