Election Night 2015

The only people Labour can blame is themselves. They appointed a joke of a guy to stand for Prime Minister, they've shot themselves in the foot in key public debates "we won't form a coalition with the SNP" and stupid things you use to make them look stupid (the stone).

What you also need to remember is, is that since the Tory's got in, the vast majority of people living in this country have seen their houses go up in price, petrol come down and the "debt" (used loosely) cut in half. Maybe even still a feel good about the Olympics?

What they remember of a Labour government is overspending, bankers teabagging everyone, getting us into a pretty shitty situation with the market crash and finally, halting the production of house building.

I think a lot of people are willing to see what the Tory's are going to do now they've cut the deficit, we gave Labour 3 elections where it went from "everyone's got cash" to "**** me, we're broke". The Tory's have picked that up and in 5 years seemingly sorted it out and have dug the foundations of a stronger economy, why would anyone want to stop that right now? FOR ED MILLIBAND? [emoji38]

So the vehement Labour supporters on here need to consider that the voters aren't voting specifically to **** over the needy, they're voting because of much larger issues than the 1% of people who need a few extra quid in their pockets from benefits.

I voted Green so **** y'all.

Did lapal just say petrol costs came down?! Seriously?!!!

They did for about two days and then went back up higher than they were before which the press and seemingly everyone else has failed to see.

Its 1.10 near me so i dont see where you came up with that when it was 1.30 at one point

Let's see what Cameron can do with a flimsy majority.

Move the boundaries and reduce the number of MPs to nearer 600, none of which will help ensure a third term........................ :D

An apparent Tory majority, Ed Balls out, pretty much every big name Lib Dem gone with Clegg likely to quit later and now Miliband:

The good news just keeps on coming!

Labour leader Ed Miliband is expected to step down later after his party's disappointing general election showing, the BBC has learned.

Labour has suffered heavy losses at the hands of the SNP, with the Conservatives forecast to achieve a Commons majority.

BBC political correspondent Iain Watson said Mr Miliband was expected to address Labour Party staff, with two senior sources saying he would stand down.

what's he going to do then? Stay in the shadow cabinet. Isn't one of the reasons, not the most important, is that people don't like him? If that's the case why would you want him in the shadow cabinet. So what then, back benches, he has no experience outside politics.

It's okay.

I was being slightly facetious when mentioning the petrol increases/decreases as government don't have any affect on their prices at all, other than being able to say "THE PRICES ARE TOO HIGH, MR OIL MAN, HALT THE RISE OF PRICES!".

But they do love a bit of a sound bite, so they mention it as a win anyway.  And a lot of people believe that they do have a say in it.

But nope, the world is a much more dynamic playground that our little island :)

Congratulations to the people of the UK who for the most part voted for banks, corporatism and racism. Now lie in it.

Vile stuff.

The Scots voted to escape a toxic Westminster.

Don't blame them.

The best thing for labour is that ed balls has lost his seat. Long term this would be good for them and that was eds main own goal that cost him greatly as ed balls is very unpopular, be interesting to see who takes over. Harriet harman perhaps?

Oh I know what you mean, but on rebuilding would they want him in the shadow cabinet. I'm sure voters, rightly or wrongly, associated him and Balls with the mess we were in.
