choffer Posted April 19, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted April 19, 2015 What a result and what a day! 10/10 for all the team and the fans - proud day! I love the way Bacuna gives CNZ a hand up but it takes both of them to pull Benteke up!

Brumerican
Wembley is strange. Embarrassing on the outside yet impressive as hell on the inside. From the upper deck it really feels like a claustrophobic cauldron.
SeanO
What a fantastic game, a team full of injuries and a suspension were still not only able to compete but were able to out play Liverpool. Proud day to be a Villan. 6 weeks to get players fit, pull away from relegation and win the FAC! Our names on the FAC this season
14K_away
its 14 thousand K's away ... but shit I just might do it, you could probably hear the screams form there last night (night for me) Was screaming for Richardsons head since he was the only one fluffing his lines but will happily have his babies for that clearance, 10/10 for everyone apart from Delph/Grealish/Cleverly who were off the scale. Still don’t get some of Sherwoods Lamberesque subs but actually don't care either since whatever he is doing is working~ So... 28K (probs $4K) round trip for perhaps the bestest day ever... think I am going gaga in my old age. my 1st Villa ever match ever was L'arse at home in ... must have been the late seventies ? 1-0 , so I got history , have I got the $$$? checking the piggy banks now checked the other forums and to be fair the scousbags are being good loosers for a change, fair play. Arj Guy
Richardson gets a 10 just for the Gerrard goal line clearance!! Destroyed Liverpool on and off the pitch today. Fully deserved win. Delph, Benteke and Grealish were exceptional

7392craig
I still can't get my head around it, we were amazing. I haven't seen us play like that in years, keep this up and we'll be safe in the league with games to play. Benteke was at his absolute best, Delph and cleverly we're great together and jack, well I've been singing his praises since the first time I saw him, but that was pretty special from a 19 year old, couldn't be more chuffed for him. The fans and the players were amazing today and did us proud. UTV and bring on Arsenal
Stevo985 Posted April 20, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted April 20, 2015 Despite the winner being the more important goal, I think the first goal will stay with me forever. I said before the game that the worst scenario for me would be Liverpool scoring early and then shutting out the game and us just being comfortably beaten. When they scored first I had this fear that that would be exactly what happened. Surrounded by liverpool fans going mental (including one of the guys I'd gone to the game with), and given the nature of the goal, I felt low. Plus given where we were located my mates and I weren't even sure if we could really celebrate if we did score. Then it happened and we just went absolutely mental. Club Wembley, Liverpool end, **** it. Any etiquette went out the window. The goal happened just below us and I don't think I'll ever forget my 2 mates and I jumping around and hugging like lunatics, surrounded by a mixture of happy villa fans and miserable Liverpool fans in between two silent tiers of shell shocked scousers. It was ecstasy.
dont_do_it_doug.
I'll never forget the face of the bloke sat next to me and my sister not long after the final whistle. Must have been in his late 40's or early 50's perhaps, though through my teary eyes he suddenly had the face of a 6 year old. Full of unabated wonder. That is an image that will stick with me forever. Block 128, row 20, seat 149 - I hope you enjoyed that drink buddy!
Popular Post Raver50032
As others have intimated, I am struggling to think of any other recent performance by a Villa team that was so complete and entertaining. I was 3 rows from the back up in Block 552 (behind the dugouts) and very close to the black netting that segregated us from the scousers. It was always going to be an 'interesting' afternoon sat there. From way up high in the sky like a hardened Holte Ender, I was overjoyed to see Villa put on a majestic (yes RAWK, we were majestic - just once, we **** were)... with crisp, measured passing, and midfield control... and with real quality going forward into attack. It was, a joy to behold. My heart sank slightly when Coutinho scored for them - a seemingly brief spell after losing Baker culminated in a goal that silenced us for a moment or two. But unlike if we had conceded in the first 10 minutes, I didn't think that the game was over - and so it proved. With renewed vigour and recent rejuvenated spirit - a gorgeous move purveyed a sweet finish for Benteke. 1-1 and game on. Still Villa looked the better side - amazing stuff given our very recent history of no goals, no fight, no spirit. But it all came together... Half time came and went and the positivity continued into the second half... Benteke back healed (just like he did at Anfield once), Grealish remained involved and Delph - THE Fabian Delph... oh my god, made my crotch tingle and my knees go weak. A goal... Another Villa goal in a Wembley Semi Final against 'top opposition.' I couldn't quite believe it... My hands up at my face, praying and kicking every ball and singing myself hoarse... The remainder of the game actually went quite quickly - normally in that position, it tends to go very slow. THAT goal line clearance from Richardson - a match winning clearance... and that Balotelli moment - yeah, he was onside, but we'd kind of stopped playing, and the ref blew and disallowed it and there is **** all we or they can do about it. Final whistle - amazing scenes in the crowd and from the Villa players/management on the pitch. It was emotional... even I was lumpy throated and misty eyed. I would give them all 10... it was that 'perfect' a display from us. Richardson was going to get a lower mark I'm afraid, I just felt he was kind of our weakest link if there was such a thing in our team on the day. But, for that winning goal line clearance - straight back up to 10 son... you helped make my day, and then some. Big shouts for Grealish... Cleverley (probably MOTM - he was inspired)... Benteke... Delph... **** it, the whole lot of 'em. And thank you Tim... Somehow, being a Villa fan is enjoyable again... not a badge of shame and misery... The best bit is, I've still got an FA Cup final to go to AND, Star Wars Episode 7 at Christmas. Win or lose in the final, nobody can take that semi-final magical performance and atmosphere away from me... 2015 is going to be a magical, memerable year. Thank you Aston Villa - the magnificent, Aston Villa. Edited April 20, 2015 by Raver50032
