Rushian Hepburn-Murphy

So, interesting that we pulled the plug on his loan to Coventry. I would have imagined that we were loaning him out for six months to get him match fit and sharp so that he could be bought back into the fold for the second half of the season/January when we lose players to the ACON.

Im hoping that it was something like us being after Hernandez and Kodjia both being wanted, but with Hernandez being a dick, we have now decided to go with Kodjia and RHM.

Good luck to the lad. hope he does well.

Yep, cant see the logical reason this was pulled.

Mail reported it was linked to contract extensions being signed, as with the case of some of the others.

Hope there is nothing in that tbh. Dont want to see a talented kid leave without a chance.

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy will stay at Aston Villa despite late interest from a number of lower-league clubs.

Coventry City were among a group of League One and League Two outfits keen to take the 18-year-old on loan before the close of the transfer window but Villa have decided against letting him leave.

The talented teenager is highly thought of at Villa and has a bright future ahead of him.

But so far he’s yet to agree on the terms of a new contract as Villa continue to hold discussions over his long-term plans.

Hepburn-Murphy has been at Villa from a young age and is said to be happy at his hometown club.

It’s thought that had he put pen-to-paper on a new deal this summer, he would have been sent out on loan to continue his development.

Fellow youngster Kevin Toner signed a new two-year contract last week and moved to Walsall until the end of January.

Riccardo Calder and Niall Mason are at Doncaster on temporary deals while Henry Cowans and Easah Suliman are at Stevenage and Cheltenham respectively.

Whether Villa and Hepburn-Murphy can come to an agreement in the coming weeks remains to be seen.

He's yet to feature for boss Roberto Di Matteo since competitive action resumed at the start of the month and is likely to find it even harder to breakthrough following the recent arrival of Jonathan Kodjia.

Hope its down to the fact they are willing to give him a bit of a chance this season in the Championship!

Yep me too,  seems a really decent talent and much rather him on the bench than agbonlahor

Wanted to dig this thread up and give him some praise. Very happy he was on the bench at last but the 5 mins or so he was on the pitch I was really impressed. Full of energy and willingness to run at the Newcastle defence. Highly doubt he'll be starting games soon with the options we have but I do hope he remains a bench option at least.

A better option than Grealish.

He really isn't.

Can't knock his energy and enthusiasm but he was a total headless chicken, perhaps too keen to impress. Definitely needs to bulk up too as there was one moment where he had the chance to run into space with the ball but got muscled off far too easily.

Happy to see him be involved but it would have made much more sense to move the £15m 20 goal striker we signed this summer into his natural position and play with a natural right midfielder.

Personally I thought that was a foul but yes, he did look a bit like a child amongst men and was knocked over really easily. Welcome to the championship son! he will come good though.
