mikeyp102
First I believed in Paul. Then I had faith. I gave my support. But then I questioned. Now I know he has to go. Think that goes for us all
Popular Post markavfc40
At this stage of the season it is usually considered a bad idea to sack a manager. The line usually wheeled out is that it could well do more harm than good. In this instance it can't though can it. We have lost 5 of our last 6 drawing the other. Trounced in three of them. That stat is bad enough on its own but when you consider those games included defeats against, at the time, fellow strugglers Stoke, Fulham, Palace and Swansea who all showed way more heart, fight and an appreciation of the shit they were in than us then it is shocking. Whether some like it or not the crowd are 99.9% against Lambert now. As much as fans will try their best to back the team that underlying feeling of having zero confidence in the manager means that a negative atmosphere being created will never be far away. We need a win against Hull and I think we now have more chance of securing that without Lambert. It won't be about tactics or technical ability now. It will be about passion, pride in the shirt, all out blood and guts not giving up on any ball and players running themselves into the ground. We need someone to step in and instill that into the players before they cross that white line. Lambert hasn't been able to do it. I think we should go down the Man Utd route for the remainder of this season. Put people temporarily in charge who know what it means to play for this great club and have some real pride and passion for it and who the fans will instantly get behind. The likes of Cowans, Little, Evans instantly spring to mind.

Rob182
Really!I'll answer, as if there was a question mark there. Yes really. Asking who was 'stupid' enough to think that a change in staff could make a difference, is pretty childish.

villaglint
I have been a believer in Lambert but 1 point from 18 is hard to defend and if we go the next 3 games without any points 1 point in 27 you just cant defend at all. Not looking for the villa to guarantee our safety any more, however other teams. Biggest problem is we still do have to guarantee our own safety with at least 1 more point. Can't see us surviving if we lose all
bretonvilla
How on earth are we going to offload this shower of shit to anybody before next season starts . They`ll probably take 20m for Benteke , then the rest of the cash needed to buy real premiership quality will have to to come from direct investment . Any estimates for the value of the rest of the squad on the current transfer market . FRIGHTENING . Poor players bought by Lambert destined for lower league teams . Big_John_10
Not quite BJ. I agree that Lambert needs to go but font agree with the vitriol and abuse he has received for a long portion of his time here.Fair enough. Do you feel this way just about Lambert or football in general? In what sense? Not quite sure what your asking but my general feeling towards villa/football is utter apathy. The vitriol and abuse. Just wondering if you're completly against that in football or just don't think Lambert deserves it?
grobs
Stan Collymore @StanCollymore 4m Just had interesting half time call from someone credible( as always!) David Moyes would be " Very interested "in #AVFC job.
Supervillan78
What's the point in sacking him, Lerner needs to go before any real improvement can be made. So disappointed today, now watch us turn over Hull, City and Spurs and finish mid-table.
Cliffy Biro
1 Loss away from losing half of our games, absolutely stunning from Lambert. The biggest fall in grace ive seen in a manager in my time as a fan. Mcleish never had any support from day one and he did far better than this. I'm convinced hes about to be shown the door and thats the only reason im reasonably happy at the moment.

Ingram85
Hmmm I guess I'm against it on the whole. Booing, chanting and what not is fair enough as it falls on the other end of the passion scale but sometimes it borders on personal and that's what I hate. But that goes for all teams fans I guess. But yes, on the Lambert out side of things, we definitely agree
PieFacE Posted April 26, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted April 26, 2014 Agree with Marks comments above. It can't get any worse. A change can only do us good now. I think Lerner will stick with it though. He did with Houllier, McLeish and Lambert last season so I can't see him sacking him now.
Supervillan78
Thanks for that Stan. Why not just employ every Scottish manager in succession then hope one will turn out to be the next Ferguson? No to Moyes!
