  1. Doug was at a point where he had to go but his last year was better than the last 3 we've had under Lerner. Each are bad but for different reasons. At least Lerner has looked after the heritage and history which keeps him light years ahead of Doug. TBH I buy a season ticket to watch the team and how they perform and the results they get is the main concern for me. My time watching villa under Doug was more enjoyable than watching villa under Lerner.Would you be happy with someone like Red Bull buying us then BJ10? Someone who would really try to make us successful, but would change the colours, crest and stadium name. It would depend on how much they changed.
  2. Lerner doesn't stand a chance in the modern game. Like I said earlier the last 3 years have been worse than when Doug was old, ill and on his way out. Everton seem to find a way, spurs have not spent city/Chelsea levels of money and they're up there. Newcastle have had moments recently as well. I think its just excuse making for Lerner stating that there's no way. Lets not also forger that he's certainly made it harder for us by allowing more teams to financially over take us and by putting us in this current mess.
  3. I imagine Keane now realises he wasn't ready for management and is trying to add experience before he tries it again in the future.
  4. Doug was at a point where he had to go but his last year was better than the last 3 we've had under Lerner. Doug was no billionaire yet he managed to run the club better than it is now. I'm not saying it wasn't becoming dark times under Doug but still what's all that about? It amazed me that some were excited and praised Lerner not long back when they hoped we'd become the team we managed to be under Doug.

  6. Hilarious. Tell us all how good things are instead.
  7. I doubt lambert has had much to do with negotiating fees for those players
  8. , it's just another signing that shows the level the owner has dragged us to. no disagreement at all and my post should not be read about me being happy about this, but merely to show an understanding of why we have signed him Yeah I completly understand why we've signed him. There's no way we're bringing quality into the squad this summer.
  9. I'm not sure lambert building a poor squad should then mean he should be classed as doing OK for keeping them in the league.
  10. Where have I said people are over the moon with this signing?
  11. I agree. I also don't think there's many unhappy with the signing as just a signing. Most seem to be frustrated with the situation that sees these kind of signings being made.
  12. I think you need to read posts again. It wasn't me who jumped on peoples opinion.
  13. Strange logic. Does just surviving for any manager show they're not out of their depth?
  14. You mock yet people who have expressed a negative opinion over this signing are again being questioned over it. You can be what you like about it, it's just another signing that shows the level the owner has dragged us to.
  15. Doesn't mean those who were saying that should automatically accept whatever CB we sign. No, but some perspective over our current situation would help, especially when signing a back-up centre back. I think most people are annoyed by our current situation. The fact we're in a position signing another average squad player is very annoying.
  16. My point is he's not a decent player. He's a bang average defender at best and that's why he's signed for a club like ours.He is pretty average. I don't think anybody can deny that. He is just better than what we have. Possibly. And again that fact is just depressing. But you've just accepted that we're average. Are you lowering your expectations?!?!£?!£?!"?£$"?$ Er no. Thats why I think its a disgrace that we're the state we're in. My point is he's not a decent player. He's a bang average defender at best and that's why he's signed for a club like ours. Oh gawd, woe is us, doom and gloom jeezus man, can't you give it a rest for one page of posts? It's the frickin summer, close season not even pre-season, if we're struggling come crimbo you're gonna end up topping yourself!!! Oh sorry, I must be the only one who isn't over the moon about this..oh wait.
  17. Although what you say makes rational sense, isn't that exactly what Shahid Khan did with Fulham? Not sure Fulham last year were the mess we currently are. But yeah maybe someone will be daft enough to gamble.
  18. Okore has retweeted a few tweets about him playing as a DM now senderos has signed. Wonder if there's anything in that.
  19. My point is he's not a decent player. He's a bang average defender at best and that's why he's signed for a club like ours. He is pretty average. I don't think anybody can deny that. He is just better than what we have. Possibly. And again that fact is just depressing.

  21. I'm guessing, and bear with me here because its a crazy concept, that possibly a player who's played at the level Senderos has might just have a bit of self belief and think he could force his way into the side!! I very much doubt he's come here to sit on the bench. He possibly WILL end up on the bench if Okore realises his potential, but I'm pretty sure that's not what he's aiming for and not how the club will have got him to sign. Then you'd think a decent player, with self belief to be a starter on a free would have better options than a club in our current state
  22. It's like an abused partner in a relationship. Constantly trying to convince yourself it's not that bad and things will get better. Last season was utter garbage and while there are reasons that played their part the main reason is the manager didn't do a very good job.
  23. Yeah I said similar not long back. No owner is going to spend £200 million and risk going down. If it doesn't happen with enough time to sign some quality then yep its another 12 months before anyone shows interest.
  24. I have to question the label decent player. What decent players come to a club in the state ours is in to sit on the bench?
