  1. I doubt lambert has had much to do with negotiating fees for those players
  2. I'm not sure lambert building a poor squad should then mean he should be classed as doing OK for keeping them in the league.
  3. Strange logic. Does just surviving for any manager show they're not out of their depth?
  4. No luckily there were 3 worse teams as Lambert was getting us our joint lowest premiership points total.
  5. He's very lucky. I can't think of another club in the league where he'd have kept his job with the results he's produced. I think he's incredibly lucky to be employed as a manager at a premiership club.
  6. But you've defended our level of spending. If you think what he's been given is OK then surely you can't then use it as a reason to defend such poor performances and results. Just because I don't take extreme black and white views doesn't mean I don't think everything has been ok on the investment front. But you did. You had no issue with the amount of funding he was given this past January window. Don't recall that but even if I did, since when does being ok with one specific window equate to being ok with everything regarding investment? So which transfer window did you think was an unacce

  9. I keep hearing about expectation again but for some reason they continue to be lowered to defend Lambert. Not one single person said they expected two relegation battles and club record lows when he arrived and had his first transfer window. I didn't expect top 8 but I also didn't expect a season that was similar if not worse than McLeish.
  10. I just read bigger picture again. I thought after yet another shocking year in which we finished with 38 points that argument wouldn't really be thrown out anymore.
  11. In terms of careers football has a short one. If I was a footballer and my choice was key player at a prem club or usually sub's bench for villa then I'd choose playing. Add on more money and its an easy choice to make.
  12. I think you need to take into account both. League place is obviously important but I think when comparing any seasons you think about league, points and performances. Again, the fact its even close to McLeish just shows how shit he's been. OK so we're ignoring league position? Does that mean if we had a manager who finished 2nd on 89 points +30 & a manager who finished 1st on 89 +29 that the other would have had a better season?Don't bother arguing with BJ10. If I was constantly proved wrong I'd probably take this attitude as well. But he's right! Where you finish in the league defines
  13. For your own sake I hope you realize that a discussion/debate is about far more then proving someone wrong. It doesn't necessarily have to be a part that's either right or wrong. It's a great opportunity to gain knowledge and to get an understanding of other peoples view. Sadly people are far more concerned with winning their discussion then learning something from it. Off topic, sorry! As for Paul Lambert, he'll be around until a new owner comes in. After a very disappointing season I'd like to see him leave sooner rather then later. Things just didn't work out, sadly. I agree but th
