Yeah you would be correct Rodders Greedy bastard I know, But I started thinking that they're paying silly money to make everyone accept the 'first offer' without any questions asked. Perhaps they've messed up in the staff contracts somewhere. I need to take everything to a lawyer anyway which they have to sign off, I'm sure they will be well versed in employment contracts. A new year to me at work, includes higher budgets, so we have to work that bit harder every year, even though last year was a record breaking year for us, budgets will be higher still. It just gets a bit repetitive earning a company and its director/owners more an more money as we work our bollocks off. Or have any particular recommendations about writing one? I've been doing jobs that I got through a website which generates CV's from information provided, but now I need to go out and get work elsewhere, and I realise I haven't changed my CV since I left uni in 2007, and I need to create my own. Last few "advisors" I saw before I got my job were steadfast in the belief that you have to have a skills box at the top and your personal statement blurb at the bottom. Name and contact info jobs you want skills box work experience education training/certifications personal blurb fit that into 2 pages, 1 is better if can. Make it neat and tidy. Keep formatting, font, indents, titles etc the same all over Spell Check All sounds like simple stuff, but you'd be amazed at the amount of people who **** all that stuff up. Half the time I think it's just me but I'm at that age now where I really want to find something I'm going to enjoy (to an extent) and see it as a future! I've gone from working in a factory which stressed me out big time and gave me migraines every month or so, to an outdoor job driving about on my own. Although it feels loads better being out in the fresh air all day long, I dislike the driving and 75% of the time I'm working in shit areas (I'm based in Wolverhampton - apologises for anyone who lives there ), so I feel so uncomfortable during most the day. I don't see myself wanting to stay there even though it poses opportunities down the line to work my way up. At the moment I'm on a wage that just about keeps my head above water with paying the bills. I've got no qualifications under my belt and I've got a mortgage to pay, so I can't drop everything to go to college or anything. I understand there are part-time courses but I'm not sure what I actually want to do! Any advice would be appreciated. Already had a couple of chats with my boss about that lack of work. Been trying to generate work for myself but it's got to a point where motivation is so low I'm really struggling. I'm worried my skill set is so limited to sales work that I can't do anything else. Maybe a different type of Sales? Consumer sales rather than selling a production process like I currently do. I've had experience of a couple of places where they do seem to find people that can hack it and don't seem to turn over staff quickly which is very, very unusual. It's so far removed from my mindset I'm amazed anyone can do it day to day for years. My own career is back to it's rollercoaster usual style, when I moved in the summer I gambled on a temporary role which has been extended a few times with the promise of maybe a permanent role, but now we're really approaching the end game of that and I'm having to look elsewhere to cover my arse really. It's awkward. I don't want to leave really, and it's probably in my interests not to - I'm picking up experience of wider areas, as till now I've been very specialised, but I'm still not an expert in them. And I've effectively shifted into a different role which again I'm just picking up. But, might not have much choice about it. On the plus side I do see myself switching roles in the industry significantly in the future and this could be the opportunity to do it...
