Imagine the heat in England today but not having an AC, anywhere.

That's life in India and Pakistan lately for millions of people.

No escape.

No escape for me today... even the AC in my car doesn't work! :D

Went out earlier for a drive... windows down, music on and stretched the legs of the car. Was tempted to stick my head out of the window like a spaniel, but managed to refrain.

My AC in my car has also stopped working.  Just blows boiling hot air out.

You can't blame it on everything. It's probably their 20 year old shit fridges.

Have they sacked your local met office team yet @chrisp65?

Met office had 29, BBC were saying up to 40.

It topped out at… 33

which if you were being generous is middling between the two.

As it happens, I’ve ended up in Nottingham anyway.

Sleeping is gonna be a chore tonight.

Cooling gel pillows, Japanese cooling blanket. Fan at the end foot of the bed, windows open.
Actually scratch that, I’ve just opened the window and the warm air coming in isn’t going to work. It’s just too hot in London tonight.
I think tomorrow I’m going to her place to see if sleeping on the balcony is any better.

From 1992, during a previous, much less intense heatwave. Long story short: the author presents climate change as a "debate," and doesn't take it too seriously. Wonder what he would say today. Hope this is legible at the low-res. I suppose it must make painful reading today.
