This Could Be Rotterdam
Their fans were awful today, quite disappointed at their lack of banter!

Guest av1
In normal circumstances I would be absolutely delighted to see Newcastle relegated, i despise them. Sadly however, i think like the last time they went down, they will be strong in the championship. With circumstances as they are, i think i would have prefered Sunderland to go. Though its all academic i suppose as i don't see us challenging anyway.

S-Platt Posted May 7, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted May 7, 2016 Spoke to a few of their fans before and after the game and they were good fun and proper football fans like us. Might be different on the net but in reality they were sound. I think them coming down if it happens is a good thing. Rafa will leave and so will their decent players. Big Sam would walk The Championship with Sunderland so all in all a good day.
Rugeley Villa
there a few ex pats who live in my area and tbf they are all sound. dont really care much for newcastle but they are a big club like us and they have a very good following and have done for most of their history. HanoiVillan
Only spoke more than a few words to one fan today, but he was really sound, sympathised with us a lot. In general they seemed beery as always but I didn't think there was any edginess to it.
jasoncb
In terms of next season (if were serious about getting promoted) then Norwich and Newcastle coming down with us is a good thing.

Norwich have got promoted quite quick after last relegation and Newcastle will dwarf our budget unless we get a takeover

S-Platt Posted May 8, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted May 8, 2016 The atmosphere was great but I think beating blues was a better highlight in a season of shit!
mikeyp102
Surprised at the lack of fight from them yesterday. Made attacking subs but didn't have a shot on target against us with our awful defence.
theboyangel
Shame we couldn't win but the draw (along with Sunderlands amazing win against Chelsea) has potentially consigned them to the Championship along with us. I couldn't help but notice JonJo Shelvey riding the pine yesterday - how much did they pay for him in January along with his wages??? We're in shit street under Lerner - but we're looking to change ownership. Newcastle will continue with Mike Ashley, who I imagine isn't that impressed with the return on a big outlay this season. I can see Ashley tightening the purse strings now.
a m ole
http://www.themag.co.uk/2016/05/aston-villa-fans-just-dont-get-newcastle-united/ got some of them riled up... Quote The point that Aston Villa fans completely miss, is that Newcastle United fans are not angry at this taunting, more it is ‘anger’ (or bemusement) at just how sad some people are. The idea that somebody would go to the trouble of painting bed sheets and hanging them up at the match, in the hope that something bad is going to happen to a club 200 miles away who should in reality mean nothing to them. The fact that Villa supporters have got some kind of reaction from Newcastle fans (and media coverage), appears to have been a massive boost in self-esteem for those few who still go to Villa Park. - See more at: http://www.themag.co.uk/2016/05/aston-villa-fans-just-dont-get-newcastle-united/#sthash.GJLZsRLp.dpuf Edited May 8, 2016 by a m ole

Edit. May I just add I was walking up witton lane for the protest march with my son and about 100 or so Newcastle fans coming marching the other way banging on about how we are regulated. Karma is a bitch isn't it. Your going down, deal with it. Seriously, talk about over reacting to a bit of banter ffs.
