I don't see how they don't come across the same problems we've had regarding FFP? Yeah they'll probably spend a fair bit at first but then what?

They'll do lots of things with sponsorship and with income generation.

They're in a position where they can ask companies competing for a billion pound contract to build roads in Saudi Arabia if they might want to consider sponsoring Newcastle's training ground for £10m a year, they're in a position where companies that want to keep Saudi Arabia happy will be falling over themselves to throw money into Newcastle.

I think they'll do it over time rather than immediately, but don't be under any illusions that they're going to make it work - the Premier league is based on the principle that the richest team should win - Newcastle are now the richest team.

Well the big 4 is gonna have some fall out when Newcastle Gate crash the party. The likes of Arsenal,  Spurs,  Everton and us are further down the picking order.

It was a sad day for English football when this all started with Chelsea and it can only lead to a further demise of our leagues as far as fans outside of the great gravy train are concerned.

Can see at least another Champions league spot for the premier league,  maybe even 2. In fact there's nothing stopping  the premier league starting their own European competition once we have all the best players in the world playing in it.

Be interesting to see what they do first off the pitch, NSWE moved quickly to get Purslow involved and from their combined work they've put in place a very good project. We've arguably got the best group of young players about to come through than anyone in the Premier League. If only a third of the investment in top youth players turn into first team players to add to the young squad we have we're in a a very good place and staying inside our FFP and adding one or two world class players along the way we'll be right u there.

If they don't get the off the field stuff right immediately then their first effort will fail, even if they do they have all the turmoil of sacking Bruce and the coaching staff, player turnover etc etc. to come before things improve. Don't get me wrong, you need the money but it's not enough on it's own.

They're the biggest winners in all of this, their hand strengthened considerably, the threat of another super league diminished further. The best players can go to PSG if they want, but if they really want to test themselves, they'll go to the prem where the real competition is.

Their first actions will be a really good indication of what's going to happen - what they do in the next few weeks will be fascinating.

A new CEO, new staff, new infrastructure, a new manager, off field facilities development, new contracts for key players, any new sponsorship deals, all that sort of stuff - it'll also be interesting to see where they start to look at poaching people from and who they're looking to pick fights with.

Exactly , it won't be this season or next but they will get there ..like City this is about SA using Oil money to diversify and protect their income as demand for Oil fades. So look forward to the SA Airlines sponsoring them and the stadium and lots of PR for SA.

I will laugh at Bruce media mates having a go at them when they sack him. He should be given a chance to spend the billions

Who is the most expensive right back in the world? He'll be getting a phone call shortly.

Not the Bruce way, will be signing Elmo on a 300k a week 5 year deal and bring in that Scottish right back from the Euros. 31 million to Motherwell or Kilmarnock

Not worried. They’ll hire a load of idiots to run things and chuck millions- sorry billions - down the drain.

We've seen how certain clubs are so wealthy, they can hardly fail if they tried. Man United have been a shambles for nearly a decade, but they're so wealthy it hardly matters.  Imagine them with the wealth of a nation behind them.

This is a PR vehicle for the saudi regime, and it will not be allowed to fail, the amount of cash required to push Newcastle to the top is a trifling sum in the grand scheme of things.

I think the best case scenario is FFP slows things down so it takes a few years

Just got to hope Brucie can get Phil Jones in before they boot him

In all seriousness though can you imagine what a Steve Bruce war chest shopping list actually looks like

The real big 4 will laughing their bollocks off as he goes after their English cast offs spending Newcastle FFP limits whilst boosting theirs, Hudson Odoi for £50m and the like, some really impressive sounding cast offs, raiding barca will be the obvious one but imagine if they went and got someone like jordi alba or coutinho...welcome back to the North East Martin Braithwaite
