If you had a choice of staying for one more year at Inter Milan or being sent to Burnley what would you do?!

Can't see it Clive he will stay in Italy. Probably on good wages to.

Inter are downsizing thou so might not be that good a wages they are offering anymore.

Astonished at the negative reaction to this. Saying he doesn’t fit the model doesn’t really mean anything, it wouldn’t be bizarre to imagine they want experience in the dressing room given we’ve lost almost all of our more experienced heads over the course of 3 seasons.

Successive managers have admired him for his leadership qualities and he has just won a Seria A title. But he’s not good enough for our squad because reasons.

he's a great player and if he was coming on board with a view to a player/coach style role then us being his transition club from playing to coaching would make sense.

But since we've been taken over I don't think we've signed an OUTFIELD player older than 26.

His wages would be huge also.

So not a terrible signing just very unlikely based on our transfer activity over the last 2-3 years.

Goalkeepers are a bit of a different breed:

A. They play well into their late thirties
B. They generally get better after the age of 26.

so we rarely sign 'outfield players' over 26, if you have to split hairs.

Loans and Bruce signings don't count.

There's an aura about this club, a sense of history and tradition. Even the name is beautifully symmetrical with five letters in each word

He's still a good player, and an experienced head and a good leader. If it's not breaking the bank, why not? Can't believe it's been 10 years since he left.

70-100K a week wages to sit on the bench as a back up?

hmmmm

Yeah I'm saying if it's something reasonable like 50-60k, I'm not against it. As we saw last year, our squad gets really thin after a couple of injuries. Basically he can come in and do the job Elmo did, but on both flanks.
