Bolton manager Neil Lennon has confirmed he has suspended two players for breach of club discipline following an altercation at the team's hotel.

On-loan Crystal Palace player Barry Bannan and fellow midfielder Neil Danns were the subject of complaints made by guests at the Bolton Whites Hotel, adjacent to their home at the Macron Stadium, ahead of the trip to Brentford on Saturday.

Lennon dropped the pair for the 2-2 draw at Griffin Park and he has not yet decided how long they will remain banned from the club.

“I'm not a massive disciplinarian but we set standards at the club and when you fall below them you're going to get punished,” he said.

“We do not discourage players going out and socialising but their behaviour was unacceptable so we've had to discipline them within the club rules.

“You can punish players financially but I think it hurts them more when they don't play. They're good lads, good types, and they're disappointed with their behaviour and were more than apologetic for it.

“It's down to me how long they'll be suspended for. I'm in a good mood today so I might lift the ban soon. I might not.”

The exact nature of their behaviour is unknown and the Bolton Whites Hotel, a partner of the club, refused to comment on the incident.

Bannan joined Wanderers in February on a loan deal until the end of the season, while Danns signed a one-year contract extension in January.

Con tells me it was all much ado about nothing.

He's being kept out of the team to lower his value for a cheap purchase in the summer where Lennon will mould his team around him for next season.

As many folk on here already know Stan Petrov is making his mark in over 35's football, his team Wychall are in action in another cup final this Sunday am against a team called Monica Star, champions of the top division (one above Wychall) and with their own stars such as *carsley and devlin* but notably Lee Hendrie too, so worth a trip to Boldmere St Michaels at 10.30 to watch this.....

Bosnich back in the news...

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32492827

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has pleaded guilty to reckless driving after hitting and injuring a cyclist with his car in Sydney.

The 43-year-old appeared in a Sydney Court to face charges over the incident which occurred in the city's central business district on 21 May, 2014.

The former Australian goalkeeper had become involved in a dispute with a cyclist over lane positioning.

Bosnich will be sentenced on 9 June.

According to court documents seen by the Sydney Morning Herald,  Bosnich wound down his window and told the cyclist: "Champion you gotta pull a little to the left, you can't keep to the middle of the road."

The cyclist, 38, then struck the side of Bosnich's vehicle with an object, causing a rear view mirror to fall out of its housing.

Police reports said the former Aston Villa and Chelsea goalkeeper turned towards the cyclist, striking the rear wheel which caused the victim to fall off.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries to his ribs and elbow.

Fair play to Gary Cahill. There's not much left for him to win in club football now apart from the super cup and charity shield. He came to us as 14/15 year old so I guess that qualifies him as a product of our youth system. Has anyone else from our academy gone on to win so many top honours?
