dounavilla Posted February 27, 2015 Share Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) Agreed , IMO he always looked a decent player but expected him to develop as a defensive midfielder ,however he has vastly improved aT CB and has probably been our best defender this season. Amusing seeing Hutton in there as good as he's been this season. I guess he wasn't allowed Ireland team mates otherwise he could've put Seamus Coleman in there. You obviously don't rate him.....and in the great scheme of things, He probably wouldn't rate too highly in the history of great Villa Centre Halves. However, right here and now, in terms of sheer endeavour and fighting spirit and the the predicament we are in.....he would be one of the first names on my team sheet. If we had more of his attitude throughout the team ....I would have more confidence of staying up. I would never describe a trier as a clown. I have always ought we have lacked a bit of toughness on the pitch. I also like the fact he stands up for his team mates, like when Okore was fouled. Ok, he got sent off, but that aggression to protect and stand up for your team mates is good. He has had patchy form before, but he is playing better this season. Is his contract due yet? It's this kind of commitment I'd rather see than watching players with their hands on their hips waiting for things to happen.
