Dude, if you want to make your own list, just do it.

I've only seen about 3 films from that list plus the 2 Fox ones. I thought both Deadpool and Logan were made by Marvel studios just under the Fox name. I'm not trying to nitpick I just wasn't sure what constitutes MCU as they were both films made by Marvel. Edit: I'm not questioning Chindie as obviously he would know, I'm just wondering why they are not regarded as part of the Universe. Basically the film rights to Marvel's stuff is a mess. They nearly went bust in the early 90s and to save themselves they sold off movie rights to various characters, and major characters got bought (on crazy terms). Spider-Man and associated characters went to Sony, X-Men and associated characters went to Fox (and a few others went as well, Fox had Fantastic 4 and associated properties, and Daredevil, Universal got a really weird deal on the Hulk and Namor, Marvel's Aquaman). In the late 90s they started making movies from what they bought. In the mid-2000s Marvel take a punt on their remaining characters, mostly B tier characters from the Avengers, and start their own studio, with the big plan of doing what the comics do, tying their characters together in the same consistent world. Nobody else has really done that before. That made the MCU, a series of films that are all connected made up of various series all overlapping each other. The MCU doesn't include the stuff by Fox (and all the Sony stuff prior to Spider-Man Homecoming, and probably anything else Sony do with Spider-Man characters - it's unlikely Venom will be MCU either). So no X-Men related stuff is in the MCU (there's an exception to this where 2 X-Men characters, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, are also traditionally Avengers, but Marvel can't highlight that in the MCU movies and actually had to change their backstory to avoid the rights issue - in the comics they're Magneto's kids, in the MCU they're genetically modified human experiments). This means that, as far as the MCU is concerned, there aren't any X-Men, Logan isn't a thing and Deadpool doesn't exist. And likewise the Avengers are not in the X-Men universe on Fox's films. Deadpool makes references to MCU stuff occasionally but that is because Deadpool is basically a pisstake (in the comics he's actually aware he's in a comic, in the movies he makes 4th wall breaking jokes etc). Marvel don't have anything to do with Fox stuff, there's just an acknowledgement at the start that its a Marvel character. This could all change though. Disney are trying to buy Fox, if that is approved they get the Fox characters back and that could mean Deadpool and X-Men become MCU properties going forward. They also can now use Spider-Man and basically made the last film for Sony. And that's without getting into the TV stuff, which is even more complicated (Marvel film and Marvel TV projects (the Netflix stuff, Agents of SHIELD) are run by different people and they hate each other, so the TV stuff officially is in the same MCU universe, but there's next to no real crossover. It's only minor references). Hopefully that makes sense. 2

theboyangel
On a similar theme to Brawl in Cell Block 99, I thoroughly recommend Paddington 2 (well, there are scenes in a prison!) in all seriousness, probably the best ‘family’ film I’ve seen in ages. Even Hugh Grant is brilliant!?!

Ingram85
Hangover III ****. Think I prefer 2 to it and that film is a pile of ****. Quite telling that the only funny bit was the very last scene after the story had concluded. Could have been a great trilogy after the first film. How do you mess up something that good so badly? sne
The film on the Utöya massacre is supposedly a pretty harrowing watch. Not seen it yet but the reviews are mostly positive. Difficult thing to make a movie about without exploiting it. U: July 22, or (Utöya 22 Juli)

I’ve only seen the first one once. Thought it was alright, not good enough to warrant two sequels.
OutByEaster? Posted May 13, 2018 Moderator Share Posted May 13, 2018 Whenever I see the Equaliser with Denzel, I picture a meeting between studio execs: "I know it was popular, but Creasy died at the end! How do you get a sequel from that?!" "Wait, I've got an idea."
coda
Watched Revenge at the weekend. It's nasty in a very OTT way. I didn't care for it although Matilda Lutz <
sne
Watched Infinity Wars and The Shape of water over the weekend. Both solid movies but of course in completely different ways. Infinity wars I'd say is one of the better Marvel one's I've seen, top 5 or so. 6.5/10 Shape of water was rather good, but I had hyped it up too much in my head I think so I was slightly disappointed, bit like with 2 Billboards. Still it's easily a 7.5/10 Both worth the watch.
AVFCDAN
Watched You were never really here yesterday. Its a very powerful film, no dialog or images wasted here. Apparently Lynne Ramsay is working on a comedy next

The first was good because it was a bit different to movies with similar themes and came as a surprise. The sequels were basically the same film as the first , but with everybody phoning it in . Noel Gallagher would have loved all 3.
