MaVilla
He isnt "just a striker" for sure, the lad works hard, can drop off and play a bit also, very well rounded forward imo. That ball to Cash was sublime, added to the pass to Watkins versus Southampton, plus his goals, i cant believe ppl were writing him off, madness.
mikeyp102
Was brilliant tonight, his touch was brilliant, his link up lovely his work rate top notch. Still doesn’t seem like he can last 90, but the time he’s on it’s great. Seems Purslow was right when he said they’d looked into the Grealish replacements

But interesting that it didn't work as well when played in just a 2 with Watkins. I suspect its because Che Adams, for all his faults, is a much better link up player than watkins. But putting coutinho as part of that 3 makes all the difference

But putting coutinho as part of that 3 makes all the difference As you say Ings' problem this season has been a lack of service. Watkins does not feed him at all, further evidenced today after Watkins broke through on the right and squandered the perfect opportunity to tee up Ings.
NurembergVillan Posted March 10, 2022 Moderator Share Posted March 10, 2022 Considering he's supposed to be purely a goalscorer, he's delivered two of the best assists of our season for Bailey and Cash. Now he looks like the Ings we thought we'd signed. A real handful.
supermon
His first touch is like glue, not to mention that quality of a cross n vision for Cash goal!!

villaglint
Very good tonight. As well as the obvious was a cracking header to put Digne away which led to the first goal.

Zatman
He is more of a Teddy Sheringham style than Darren Bent
CVByrne
0.62 goal contributions per 90. 0.31 goals and 0.31 assists. They're great stats. He has 0.67 last season and 0.78 the season before. For a "poor season" his numbers are looking good
jimmygreaves
Last couple of performances he's been markedly better. Onwards and upwards.
Tom13
Becoming a nice creator. 4 more assists in 500 minutes less than Ollie tells you a fair bit about how one of them can spot a pass.
rodders0223
3 assists and a goal in 2 games with the limited amount of ball he got looking the most technical and complete striker on the books. Best to hook against West Ham and give him 10 minutes against Arsenal. I don't think Gerrard knows what he's doing.
rbcuk
How he dropped him I’ll never know looked more likely to score in them 10mins than 80mins of Watkins up front
Lichfield Dean Posted March 19, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted March 19, 2022 I would definitely like to see Ollie dropped for Ings now. I just think that Ings contributes so much more than Ollie at the moment.

May-Z
Has to start next game. More threatening and better link up in 9 minutes than Watkins had all game.
