Being linked with United in the Sun according to the BBC Gossip column.🤣

Fair play to him for turning it around.

I'll always have fond memories of him due to 7-2 hammering of Liverpool.

His goal against Leicester to win it was a cracker too

He could have had a very decent career with us if he didn't just give up halfway through the loan.  At least he seems to have learnt and knuckled down but how long it'll last is anybody's guess.

People often attribute giving up to the struggle of staying injury free and having confidence.

See Bailey, there are very fine margins to players being able to perform to the top of their game or struggle.

It's those who can consistently do this even with injuries etc which make them truly elite players.

That's what people are betting on.

But why?? 😊are there any genuine links? I certainly would hope we learned our lesson last time.

No thanks. He's the type of player who looks good when he's surrounded by a team of championship players. Also far too injury prone.

Sounds like there is interest in bringing him back.  in fairness, Emery has tuned some of our players into top 4 quality, be interesting to see what he could do with Barkley.

If it's as simple as say Chambers out - Barkley in, then it doesn't sound too bad.

He needs to be playing regularly though to get the best out of him, not sure he would get that with us.

Feels a bit like the Tielemans signing, and look how that's worked out...

Very questionable bringing him back but tbf Emery did wonders for Tielemans.

You'd think one year deal heavily incentive based if so, because lads like Ross always seem to turn on when they have to fight for a new deal and then when they get a bit of stability it's gone.

This is my thinking.

We’d be foolish not to consider him on a free, I don’t see him commanding a huge wage either….5 goals and 4 assists in a very poor luton team, a more mature, 30 year old Ross Barkley too and Emery who can take him to a new level…

also at times this year we have missed having a midfielder who can drive forward, so next season he can play in tandem with or in place of Ramsey/rogers

Good chance we see him back here imo

As long as he will accept Chambers wages
