Barkley has had a really good season, he's back to full fitness and looks much sharper than he did last time he was at VP. Would be a great option from the bench, and gives him the chance to prove his worth like Tielemans did this season. DaoDeMings Posted May 20 Share Posted May 20 Concerns about his inconsistency have been put to bed a little by his perfomances this year in a deeper role. I think in a deeper position where he'd have less responsibility to be the main creator (as has been his role at Luton this season), he'll be solid as a cheap, experienced back up option. If we were paying 15-20 mil for him I'd be confused, but on a free this is a good signing imo. I should give him the benefit of the doubt considering last time I saw him was under Gerrard and no one was good then. Think part of me just wants a younger guy like a Rogers signing who could be good while also giving you the potential to grow whereas Barkley is capped at what he will give you.
