People saying there wasn't much in it before the goal?

They have completely controlled the game and dominated us. I can barely recall us entering their final third.

Some people think the Norwich game was fairly even. Expectations are rock bottom.

We look knackered despite making changes to the line up, watford have played the same team for 3 games in a week and are all over us

There's something very wrong with this team

Wesley had a good half, besides the theatrical dive for a non-penalty. His headed chance goes in more often than not - started the move from midfield, timed his run well and connected with the ball, and has put it low back across the keeper, so harsh to criticise him for that. Has also got under their centre back's skin a bit. All in all, one of his best performances so far.

Also think Lansbury behind Wesley (it's more of a 4-4-1-1 isn't it?) wasn't a bad shout. Lansbury is in Wesley's ear the whole time and is making our forward press quite good.

The main issues are:

  • Jota is too weak and too slow
  • Elmo is too gaffe prone
  • We are giving away mismatches on set pieces (Luiz is marking Deeney on every corner ffs)
  • We're defending the first ball okay, but we're losing our markers on second balls (Luiz guilty of this a couple of times)
  • No problem starting Grealish wide away in this kind of game, but he needs to be coming central sometimes so he can get the ball in more dangerous positions. He's doing very little out there besides winning the odd foul.

Need to get Jota off and bring Grealish into play more.

Jeez it is depressing reading VT nowadays. FWIW, the save by Foster from Wes was incredible. We gifted them a goal and despite their 11 attempts, there wasnt that much between us till the goal. We can still win this!

but when players struggle to do basic things like keep the ball.....its hard to expect too much is it?

The problem Dean has is too many are not good enough and too many the same level of quality.....there's no enforcer or ball winner....its just a soft under belly.

Hause strolling out of defence like its Sunday league

He trains against Wesley. Wasn't used to being closed down in the first 20 seconds on the ball. ;)
