Apparently Ben White did something at the Euros that made Southgate hate him.

Ben White seems pretty straight talking to me. Can imagine him calling out Southgate's contradictive talking in riddles.

Great per usual but an evolution of his progression this season from the clip below. Good play overall from the squad but watch his understanding in passing JJ the ball, to bait Bournemouth out of shape and then pinging an accurate ball to feet for Watkins to lay off to the 3rd runner JJ.

Great coaching from Unai and great execution from Ty.

First goal came from something similar. We were playing slow and then their midfielder pressed Luiz. Luiz turned him and beat him upfield.

As @OutByEaster? excellently pointed out in another thread, we play counter attacking football that doesn't come from the opponent's attacks. Slow, patient possession baiting the pressure, and then sharp, incisive passing to create the chances. The CBs are essential to this as most of the pressure is on them.

WTF was Gerrard thinking? Just a pure ego decision and likely felt inadequate next to Tyrone's superior intellect and stunning physical presence.

Ty's lack of eye contact and a hatred of Phil Collins was the issue.

We did that quite alot on Saturday. It was noticeable how easy it was for our midfielders to turn theirs. McGinn did it a few times second half.

On another note, if Bailey goes down there surely its a pen. Pushes him clearly in the back and doesnt get the ball.

Yep which is why players fall to their feet even when it’s not enough to go down. They don’t get anything otherwise.

Back to Mings. Solid defender. Always has been.

Listening to the radio reports Saturday, I was reminded of both the Big Ron and MON eras with the overwhelmingly, almost shockingly complementary summation.

Deserving or otherwise there's no chance he wins as the vote seems to be linked to the FIFA game, in which case fans of Arsenal/United etc tend to just vote for their players en masse, but good to see him get some recognition all the same. Said it before but he's ironically quite underrated given how often he's described to the contrary.

player/manager of the month awards are one of the most pointless exercises in football for this very reason. would it really be so difficult to put a panel together to look at stats, results etc and make a decision? they've drawn up a shortlist so they've done the hard part...it would be no more than a 1 hour discussion to pick a winner

great to see him nominated...just a shame that he has zero chance of winning
