AVTuco Posted March 11, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted March 11, 2019 Elmo had a good game yesterday too. I like him at RB, he's good enough.
lexicon
Yep - was our best wide player yesterday.
Vive_La_Villa
Last 2 games he hasn’t played too bad for a ‘clown’.
briny_ear
With apologies to Sir AH - I’ve always thought the defence is a little bit better with him at RB. Quite good going forward too.
terrytini
Never been very pro or anti but he’s done well since coming in this time.

VillaChris
Had a shocking run of form around xmas but been nice and solid last few weeks. He's one of the few experienced players I'd keep tbh. Got one year left on his deal anyway, can cover RB (if the french lad struggles to settle) and if we get loads of injuries RM.
villalad21
He had obvious trusting issues with Nyland, i could tell from his body language and some of his weird desicion making. It did effect his game. Looks more relaxed and composed now.

bobzy
Shout out for Elmo - he's been good the past few games. Seems more composed on the ball and doesn't panic into rash decisions.

I had my heart in my throat everytime the opponent had a cross or a set piece when Nyland played. Never ever wanna get back to that. poitier
I don't rate him defensively but he has done quite well last few games. I can see him making a tackle before the season is finished if he carries on like this.

We were a shambles at the back for so much of the season. It’s so good to look solid again. Also a confidence Elmo with a regular run of games is a good player at this level. I’ve always thought that. How cool was he when Hause missed his header and he calmly cheated it and played it back? villalad21
Much better rb than Hutton. Much, much better. Imagine having a fullback that doesn't position himself in the cb position when defending Edited March 16, 2019 by villalad21

sidcow Posted March 16, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Let's talk about Elmo Elmohamady. I've given him a fair amount of stick on these hallowed pages these last couple of years but he's been excellent recently and especially today. Long may this continue. Well done Elmo. Stevo985 Posted March 16, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted March 16, 2019 Glad he's getting back to form. I thought he was very good last season. He's been poor this season and I'd suggested here before that maybe it was his partnership with Snodgrass that made him seem better than he actually was. Maybe he was just another victim of the defensive uncertainty we've had for much of this season.

It's no coincidence that since we got a solid CB partnership both fullbacks have improved as has the rest of the team. Now theres someone up the field who can hold and carry the ball it links the whole team and they play to their strengths. Elmo just like Taylor having to make last ditch decisions is now a rare thing which gives everyone confidence
Johnnyp
Shocking around Xmas culminating in the gift winner he gave Leeds. Playing very well lately though.
mikeyp102
Whilst he has been good recently, he was poor yesterday, especially first half. Was at fault for the goal, and was playing very narrow. Their lw, had so much space
