A double promotion is bloody tough. If sheffield united manage it wilder has to get championship manager of the decade! You are also right that we do need to start beating those around us and we have the opportunity with derby, leeds boro coming up. For me the one thing i was delighted about and has held us back for a while is: coming back from a losing position to win. We only managed that against reading last year. Hopefully now with the QPR victory we can put that monkey off our backs. If we have overcome that i think skys the limit i really do once we get key players like kodjia and terry back. I thought that too but we actually took the lead. (As someone pointed out to me weekend).Maybe it felt like we were losing.

DCJonah
If we want to close the gap, we can't really be dropping points to God awful teams at home. 3 points please.

Reivax_Villa
Okay.. We are now solidifying our position as promotion contenders. We are winning ugly but sod it we are winning. Every game is going to be tough but I cannot see us dropping out of the top 6 this season. We are 5 points from 7th place and five points off an automatic spot. How does this table look everyone? Looks nice doesn't it Edited November 21, 2017 by Reivax_Villa
omariqy
Massive win for us. Shame Cardiff scored a winner late on. Still we are closing the gap.
Popular Post TrentVilla Posted November 21, 2017 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted November 21, 2017 Big three points that in a game that had potential banana skin written all over it. Most of the other results went for us so all in all a pretty good night, unless you watched us obviously. 5
lexicon
Be very interesting to see how Sheff Utd and Bristol react to their losses - neither of them have particularly strong teams, so we need to hope that it's the start of a dip in form.
DCJonah
God that table is looking good now. Hope we can keep this going.
dn1982
Good win Crap game. Our passing and movement is still awful but if we keep grinding it out who cares!!
Jareth Posted November 21, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted November 21, 2017 There's not much in this right now. I think the loss of Terry and only having Davis up front during December will cost us a few points, but at least we are giving ourselves a chance with the last two results. Demitri_C
Derby have a game in hand so that's also can't be overlooked. Even Sheffield united lose, they lose in style! Was hoping would end 2-5 as that would have knocked stuffing out of them. We need to win Saturday as I can't see us winning at Leeds so we need to be winning Saturday. At least we've closed that gap by 2 points - took us 8 wins in 11 games to catch up those 2 points. Hopefully the next 5 will be a a bit quicker. Vive_La_Villa
Could have done with Cardiff losing. Bristol city were always going to fall off the pace. Sheff united conceding 5 at home!! Has the bubble burst?
Jareth Posted November 21, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted November 21, 2017 Definitely a marathon and not a sprint - the top 4 are all close to that 2 point per game average - it's down to whoever stays the distance.

Reivax_Villa
2nd is possible. I just feel like we need more firepower. Kodjia is out for the foreseeable future. I would seriously consider recalling RMC, he could get us 5-8 goals to contribute to our season. Hopefully Hogan recovers soon, if we ever needed him now is the time.
