MWARLEY2
Xavi slagging the press off as he announces he is leaving. They are even worse there than here. Glad he is going for his sake as he is a true legend there.

VillaChris
Deeney is like Sherwood on steroids isn't he? Not going to get another job speaking like that to his own players and refs anytime soon even if it makes very good copy for journalists. In a funny way I think him getting zero on his specialist subject on Celeb Mastermind perhaps hinted he wouldn't do that well in management as even if it's for fun it's still prepping and getting things right under pressure and I really can't understand how he couldn't get a single question right on that topic (think it was Spiderman?)

He's a deluded narcissist, like his management career he thought he could just wing it and come out smelling of roses. He can't comprehend he wasn't that good of a player or that intelligent of a guy. Everything just gravitates around him.

Who's shocked to read that he told a ref he'd punch their **** head in if they're weren't a referee. Reformed character, yeah? It's disgusting he's given a media platform to rehabilitate his image again

sne
Looks like it's Jon Dahl Tomasson that will be the next Sweden national manager. Cautiously content with that. The guy I wanted (current Bröndby manager Jesper Sörensen) is also Danish so this would be a step in the right direction. Delighted we finally dared to appoint a foreign manager. The Swedish manager pool is shallow and putrid. He was a massive flop at Blackburn by the look of it but this is a different type of job. Won 2 championships in Sweden with Malmö but then again so would most managers.

Its not Blackburn of the 90s Ireland are probably going to hire Neil Lennon who is also a bad manager and a piece of shit so you guys are ok

The_Steve
Really touching that Liverpool will allow Sven-Goran Eriksson to fulfil his lifelong dream of managing them in a charity match against Ajax at Anfield next month following his terminal cancer diagnosis. As nice a gesture as that is, it's not really a difficult thing for them to do. Still, it's one for the game's good thread, and there is very little of that about at the moment! Maybe give them some credit that they got it arranged so quickly and fit into their mental schedule.
Genie
It was widely reported earlier that Roy Hodgson was going to be sacked later today. It’s now being reported he was taken ill at training today. Hopefully nothing serious.
