In hindsight maybe, but you strike while the iron is hot. If, for example, Arsenal are in for you right now, you've no guarantee that they'll be in for you in the summer. You could get injured. Someone else might come on the market. All manner of things could happen, all resulting in you missing the boat. So you move now or you're rolling the dice somewhat. Jas10 Posted January 17, 2017 Share Posted January 17, 2017 We need to get a move on with our more realistic and affordable targets such as Lansbury and Hourihane, need to get those deals wrapped up asap as it seems we are struggling to land our main (more expensive and more difficult) targets due to PL competition. We desperately need to strengthen the first 11 to at least give us some semblance of a decent and cohesive team, if we allow the rut to continue it will be disastrous. Eastie Posted January 17, 2017 Share Posted January 17, 2017 If we faiL to beat Preston then we can as good as kiss this season goodbye having been right iN the hunt at the start on January . failure to strengthen midfield is costing us valuable points this month and knowing that this was an area we were crying out for signings it's disappointing that the window is past the halfway point with still the same midfield. i understand the Lansbury complications but surely there are other deals we could have pushed through even if paying slightly over the odds - the points dropped this month could be the difference between making the play offs or finishing in mid table. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
