I couldn't give a flying shit if a good player was English, Australian, Bangladeshi, or Martian. If they would benefit us greatly and they are obtainable, we should get them. This window, the British players we are in for ( Lansbury and Hourihane [ Irish]) are amongst the best performers in the league this season, and we can pick them both up for less than 5 million. Exactly. The main reason people buy from abroad is because its generally better value for money. Young half decent British talent costs a bomb compared to players from abroad. We've had Garde and Di Matteo as managers who have both been appalling. Players wise, Veretout, Gil, Sanchez, Cissokko, Crespo, Adama and Ayew are foreign and have been awful in general. Plus Bruce has got out of this league 4 times. That isn't 'shyte', that is a fact. I'm interested in signing players that will improve us and get us out of the division. If we can't improve, once those play-offs are out of reach, the season will just tail-off and the players will start thinking of their holidays. The very thought of the above bothers me greatly so I am really hoping that we manage to secure a few necessary deals and make a go of it for the play-offs. The only way this will happen is if the fans turn on him and I can't see that happening as (for the most part) he has us on his side... For now.
