Players let Villa down big time today. Coasting in the first with very little pressure until Johnstone dropped the ball.

Only one team in it second half until Jack got himself sent off. Two very good saves from the Forest keeper kept them in the game.

Bruce tried to get to a 441 with fresh legs and was correct move for me. We might have got a point if Chester had been in the right position and not just look at the scorer but marked him.

Tactics were fine but players weren't.

Saying that, we can't go on getting results like this.

Coasting?

Clearly it is an instruction, everyone behind the ball. No pressing. Sit deep.

If we wanted we had the players to go out there and pass and press that jokeshow off the pitch...but we didn't...because Bruce set us up that way.

LOL so what do we do then?

Appoint another manager that brings in his own players and the same shit happens?

Yes until we get it right. What's the point of keeping him hoping it will improve when it won't? We have not played well even when we we won a few games. Brighton and first half of Preston were our only good performances. Under RDM we were playing well without results. Now we're playing woeful without them. He's signed good players and is not utilising them correctly. Playing negatively against such a poor side is unbelievable.

Do you expect the fans to open another bottle of bubbly after another pure shit bottle job?

You're right. There's absolutely nothing between popping the champagne and demanding the manager out.

Don't know where we go from here. We have a promotion specialist manager who has no clue as to what is his best team and how to set them up, after spending so much money. Makes you wonder if, not when, we'll start heading in the right direction.

I would get rid of him now, we have nothing left to play for this season so we may as well get someone in who can get the team playing actual football.

He started well but I think anyone could have improved on RDM.

I'd argue the point that we have a place in the championship next season to play for. No joke.

One of the causes to our instability is the the high demands and pressure fans put on the players and manager.

If we have learnt one thing it should be patience

Mate, i'm all out of patience. How much longer should the paying fans have to wait? It's been shit for so long.

High pressure? That is why we are paying the best salaries in the division!

Today probably wasn't our worst performance by some way, but it has annoyed me more than any of the others.

Spending like champions then playing with the mindset of minnows is just an utter embarrassment. Not even getting a result from it is the icing on the cake, but it is the negative play that really irks me. We should be able to go there and steamroller them. Never mind this 'we can't just go there and think we are going to win because we are Aston Villa', we should have a big bollocks attitude because we have the big bollocks in this division.

I was happy enough when we got Bruce, and I'm not in favour of changing managers on a regular basis, but I'm starting to doubt that he has what we need now that we have assembled a decent enough squad to not have to be afraid of teams like Forest and the rest. If he hasn't turned us around in terms of performances and attitude in the next ten games then I would pull the trigger and give someone else time to get this team to the level they should be at next season.

And? That is a tactic many teams use. Sit back and catch teams on the counter attack. Just because it isn't a tactic you like doesn't mean it is wrong.

That is the tactic you lose when you are a small nation defending for your lives or fighting relegation. Not when you have hand picked the best players in the division at great expense to get promotion.
