Popular Post Mazrim
I think it was very silly throwing cabbage at Bruce. He can dodge salad like Neo dodges bullets. If he really wanted to hit him he should have used processed meats. 6

I think the cabbage was thrown to suggest the penalty should have been a choux-in.

Popular Post Hughes
When he first arrived I actually think he did a good job - he inherited a club still in shambles and he did "steady the ship", got rid of some rats, got in some good players with a good attitude and got the ship moving forwards again. No small job that, thinking of the state of that ship at the time. Also, no doubt he wants to succeed at Villa, he knows this is his biggest job as a manager and he clearly is proud to be the manager of this great club. That being said, not being promoted last season was a total failure with the squad at his disposal. "Only 90 mins away" is moronic, we should never have been in that final, we should have been in the top 2. And, in his third season we still have no plan on how to play, no composure and no structure. No surprise really, we knew he "does not do tactics". In his third season and following unprecedented resources for a club in this division, we still have a squad which is so unbalanced you could not make it worse if you tried. In his third season he is still playing many players completely out of position and he has no idea what his best 11 is. In his third season his attacking "style of play" is still dependent on some magical moments from one of his best players, or scoring from a set piece. Spending pre-season tuning the team to a 3-5-2 formation and then starting the season with a different formation. Loaning out a classic CD when the squad was screaming for a new CD and now, of course, being punished for that when Chester was sent off and will be unavailable for 3 games. Packing the squad with attacking and creative players when he has no idea, no idea whatsoever, how to use them. Let's be honest, he has never been a manager for attacking play anyway but now, probably under pressure from new owners to create a more attacking style of football he is being asked to something he quite simply is not able to do as a manager. I get it, the job was extremely tough when he came in and it still is one hell of a difficult job. But time is up and should have been up after the failure last season. I am sure you tried your best Steve, and no doubt lot's of the players like you, but you failed miserably and you need to go. Now. sne
Feeling a bit guilty as I suggested he should eat more greens the other week. Hope I didn't start anything? Then again it could have been his dietician trying to motivate him in a unusual fashion after not getting through in resent months? 1
Wainy316
I reckon they'll keep him in place for Saturday then sack him regardless of the outcome.
BleedClaretAndBlue
Deluded doesnt begin to describe Bruce. He actually wonders why every decision is questioned! Really? Because none of them make any bloody sense! We could take your point if we were actually playing scintillating football and winning games! Even after those first 2 wins, literally every Villa fan who watched the games said we will be in trouble playing this way it will all unravel against a better opposition- there's no plan etc. And Its not because you're ex-scum, which has come into your thinking and excuses lately. Who can survive this, seriously. Take a look at yourself, Steve, if the mirrors wide enough: Ipswich 1-1 Villa Villa 2-2 Brentford Villa 1-1 Reading Burton 1-0 Villa Sheff Utd 4-1 Villa Blackburn 1-1 Villa Villa 2-0 Rotherham Villa 1-2 Sheff Wed Bristol C 1-1 Villa Villa 3-3 Preston Time to go Bruce the Excuse.
rodders0223
I think the fact he refuses to watch our penalties sums up this gutless excuse for a manager.

Popular Post lapal_fan
I think Bruce came in when we were sinking faster then a very full bollock in a bathtub. He came in, made us solid and gave us a team I personally enjoyed watching. We had Terry at Aston Villa FFS. That's mental. We had wingers who crossed AND scored goals. We had Jack Grealish who (after his bad kidney injury) was given license to go an express himself. We had Hourihane who could score from midfield.. what the **** was that about?! Alan Hutton turned into something resembling NOT A SHITHOUSE. It was good. We didn't get up. That was bad. We nearly got there, but ultimately, we didn't. This season, has been largely bad. I think it's time for Steve to go now. He's lost the support and it's nigh-on impossible to turn that ship around once it's set its course, ask Jose. I've got a lot of questions about the seeming scatter-gun approach he's had to get us winning, but that's because he is desperate to find a solution, and I don't think he's being pragmatic enough, that's bad management. We don't have CB's, that's bad management. What I do find pretty despicable though, and embarrassing is just how much spiteful hate there is going around. Imagine hating someone you don't know personally, who is probably trying their hardest to do well.. Imagine that? Then imagine hating someone so much you go on social media and express your opinion (who no-one gives a shit about), telling us all who are unfortunate enough to scroll past your asshat comment, how much you hate "POTATO MAN" or any of the other clever little names you've imagined for him. I was looking through Twitter earlier. I came across the Villa social media team's tweet which just said "PENALTY TO VILLA" with a gif of Jack going "COME ON!!". The tweets in reply to it were **** abysmal. "The Bantz", or however you want to put it, were **** moronic. Like seriously, Jeremy Kyle wouldn't even have the type of people who were dribbling over their keyboards in it's reply. I know it's "cool" to be over-the-top or whatever, but when every **** thinks they're Micky Flanagan it's boring. I mean, throwing a cabbage ffs.. Grow up and **** off. I hate football fans, they're the absolute dregs of society most of them. Bruce has had his time, he hasn't worked out, I think it would be best for us and him to say bye now. But I will say, that whilst it ultimately didn't work - I do have some good memories about his tenure. And at the end of the day, only the very few get to walk away from a football job. And at a club like Villa, that's even less likely than normal.
