LakotaDakota
Was he shagging the chairmans wife at bournemouth or something, Why on earth would they sell him? I could understand if we had offered them 15 million or something, But 3 million? Ah well, Their loss. Best signing we have made for years
krisagg75
watching Bournemouth today they could of done with him.
PompeyVillan
I'm not sure he's the best defender we've ever had, but he will put his head on everything. He'll try and lead us forward and hopefully nip and prima donna nonsense we've had for too long. Bournemouth sold him because they were not playing him regularly, probably because the PL is a level above what he is capable of. But their loss is our gain. I'm happy to have him as our captain. Richard
We have a decent record of getting good central defenders from Bournemouth
Spoony
I love Elphick. And I find it hilarious how we alway idolise our centre backs! For most clubs it's strikers. Not at the Villa! Here it's centre backs and beards.

I think its to do with we have always had good defenders (until last couple seasons) compare to the many a Villa team that was toothless in attack plus a passionate centre back is always I think means more to fans, a player that would run through walls

Bunnski
Looked like he got a shout from the keeper to me, next time he won't leave it to him
kurtsimonw
A shout often just helps to let the defenders know that the keeper is coming, so if the defender does decide to play the ball then not to out it goal wards. Defender shouldn't let his man get past him when they're so close to the keeper. Just get rid.

Popular Post mikeyp102
@Michael118 wrote Quote "My opinions are not just plucked from mid air. I've watched and played different codes of football my whole life and have a strong interest in psychology and spirituality. You might not think that matters but it runs through everything including football. I try and combine all 3 aspects when I am forming an opinion. There is so much going on under the surface of everything that most people are not aware of. I like to think I can tap into some of that and put forward some opinions that may seem off centre at the time but have a good chance of being accurate as time goes by. People will then come to their own conclusions for "why" that happened. If people want to write my opinions off or take them on board that's entirely up to them. " (Couldn't quote from a previous thread...) You said this based on people questioning your opinion on Clark been the better signing than Elphick. Firstly I presume that you (like the majority of us), have never spent a lot of time with either Ciaran or Tommy? In which case how can you know what their psychology is like? We can only judge off the performances we see. For me, Elphick has already shown that he has much more leadership qualities about him than Clark ever showed. He is constantly organising the players around him, getting them into position, geeing up the crowd and being a voice in the field. Even if your opinion is that Clark is a better footballer, surely you must agree that Elphick is just what this team needed, and therefore his signing is vitally important for us, more than Clark's is for Newcastle?
