(2) I have tried to sell since 2014 but that hasn't happened –we knew that. (3) I will continue to try to put the club into worthy hands and do my best to position Villa for the quickest return to its rightful place among England's elite. I suppose this last point gives up some sense that he is trying to find a suitable owner. So in that sense it is at least consistent. I do still believe he is a 'good' person, with his heart in the right place, but that his judgement is always quite a way off. He is just out of his depth and probably thought English sport was similar to US sports, it's not and he has found out the hard way. I am however encouraged by the comments in that they can be viewed as a goodbye. We don't get much out of him and as some have said, we know all of what he said anyway, he knows that we know so there was no need to say anything.
