Hanky
I don't agree with it but I can't see why Remi played the team he did against Norwich. We had a few games in a short period. His one big error so far for me. Hindsight I suppose. Otherwise he's done a pretty good job the last few games in the league.
Popular Post It's Your Round
One thing we do need right now is consistency in managers. We've had too many recently and the constant chopping and changing hasn't helped out cause. The board should stick with Remi and give him the chance to rebuild in the way he wants, whatever division we're in. If he and the players feel they're part of a solid project then they might just commit their futures. At lest for next season and see how it plays out.

Ranieri also more than likely would have chosen us ahead of Leicester if we wanted him. Bilic, Flores, Guidolin were all better appointments. So Garde is Boring, safe and conservative. Just out of curiosity, how would you describe Pulis and Allardyce?

You've then suggested 3/4 managers who were appointed in the Summer when we still had Sherwood which is completely irrelevant. I'm adamant you're on the wind up. I just don't see how I can find room for Suarez up front though?! He'll have to play on the left hand side as there is no way I am leaving out Gestede!
Popular Post mwj
Quote Premier League side Aston Villa’s manager Remi Garde has spoken to French radio station RMC about his current situation, amid speculation suggesting that the former Lyon manager would be about walk out. “Of course, I would have liked to have had players [in the transfer window]. I had pinpointed certain elements, but it did not happen for several reasons. Already our football situation is not particularly motivating. There is the possibility that we will be in the Championship next year. The American owner has also lost £300m. Instead, he might want to do something else. As long as it is mathematically possible, I believe. Aside from that, it is not a mystery, the club has been fighting for four years not to go down…” “The squad and the players have potential, but it remains a reduced group. They have broad enough shoulders to play in the Premier League. They have shown that since I arrived. That is to their credit. Now I think that there was a bit of confusion with the former manager.” “With Tim Sherwood, things simply didn’t stick. They lost seven of their first ten matches. When you arrive in England, all individuals coming from the continent have difficulties in terms of adapting. There are specifics that are sometimes surprising. The French manager that I am has given them second wind.” “[Objectives and whether or not he stays should they be relegated] will be rediscussed once the next season begins its preparation. That means at the end of the campaign. I am ready to stay at this club if I am given the means required for promotion. Aston Villa is a prestigious club in England on the exterior. But inside, there are lots of things that need to be done…” “My aim in the short term is not to return to France. I have nothing against France, but I like a lot what happens here. We will see about a return much later.” http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2016/remi-garde-speaks-out-on-aston-villa-situation/ Well that's reassuring at least...

rubberman
That's good to read. Reasonable and sensible as ever. Sounds like he's up for it - going down or not - as long as he's backed. Do it!
thunderball
Reassured by French Interview, seems like he's playing a poker game having seen the slippery, fickle side of Lerner. Back him and he's in for the long haul; Fanny around again and why waste his career on a an owner who no longer cares if the Club lives or dies, it's only money after all. Hopefully even Lerner will see that he has to spend. I know Mike Ashley is a prick, but he shelved selling when they were relegated and spent to ensure Newcastle went straight back up. Lerner could learn a lot from that fat buffoon. Ashley is wealthier though.

The Fun Factory
Garde is too nice a guy but he needs to do a Graham Taylor mark 1 and say to Lerner's face that Villa are a shambles at the moment. But given sensible backing and time he can turn us around.
