villa4europe
I thought marseille had already bid and he'd said he prefers the prem Could easily be smoke and mirrors from the agent, I'm sure when you sit down to discuss wages a story about Southampton bidding doesn't harm your chances of getting a good deal
mightysasquatch
Absolute BS if you ask me, club accepts 9m from us/player is over for talks ect What is bidding a million pound more actually achieving if 9m will seemingly land the player? Media rubbish.
tonyh29
When we bought Bent wasn't there some talk that we lodged the bid and put a deposit ( of sorts) down at the time with Sunderland which acted as a form of faith payment to stop any other bids being accepted ? ( or something like this ) Seemed to recall it being said Lerner did this on all bids , so subject to player terms I don't think any other clubs bids will be accepted ? sexbelowsound
I'm of the opinion that this deal seems to be going far too easily for the papers so they've made this little bit up. Or, its his agent looking for a better deal/fee for himself and the player by implying that there are other teams waiting in the wings.
Vancvillan
From a Lille fans forum via the magic of Google Translate: "Would worst choice for him but as € 10 million for an English club is a gift for such a player! " "That if we played in PL would be left for 30-40m " "bah, since when one can speak of a bistro counter? " It went a bit off topic after the last one. John
Buying players directly from France: Berson, Makoun, Sylla, Gueye.... Will he be any better? I would like to think he will prove Six times better and that he will soon be able to say that £9m was a sound deal "because I'm worth it". I would have liked this deal to have been signed, sealed and delivered by now because as we have seen the longer it takes to get a transfer done the more likely it is that other teams will try to scupper it (as Arsenal did when Bergkamp arrived at BHX with a view to signing for us all those years ago). Genuinely never heard of bergkamp in the verge of joining us. Is it true? It is. Our former chairman picked him up from the airport and it was all over the Evening Mail that evening. villan-scott Posted July 3, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted July 3, 2015 The Daily Mail are trying to save face by running the Southampton and Marseille story, the morning of the day it came we had agreed a fee they ran an article stating they were in the race alongside West Ham, and not a mention of us. It'll be done, and announced shortly I would imagine. Gueye and Praet into our midfield would definitely add quality.

To be fair they did mention us and were the first ones to say we had outbid all parties.
Dante_Lockhart
Sanchez, Delph, Westwood, Gardner, Bacuna, Gueye, Praet Gil, Grealish, Zog, Sinclair, Robinson Benteke, Kozak, Gabby Plus the young guys in our U21 squad. Not a bad team by the looks. Definitely not relegation fodder.
SikhInTrinity
The midfielder is LOSC Thursday in Birmingham England to visit the facilities of Aston Villa and negotiate a transfer. LOSC and the English club have already agreed on the amount of compensation that should rise to 10 million. Idrissa Gueye is negotiating with Aston Villa. PHOTO Baziz Chibane VDNPQR It's not official yet but Idrissa Gueye is about to become a "Lion", that is to say a player Aston Villa (Premier League), one of two clubs in Birmingham. The Senegalese international visited yesterday the facilities of the 17th and first non-relegation last championship. He was impressed with Villa Park and seduced by the speech of Tim Sherwood, the manager of the Villans. Unless a turnaround, so it should join Aston Villa for the next four seasons. Aston Villa and LOSC have agreed since Wednesday on the modalities of the transfer with compensation of € 10 million for the repurchase of three years of player's contract. Jonathan Delaplace is also on departure. He will sign a contract today in Caen four years. The transfer is estimated at € 600,000. These cash flow in addition to transfers of Kjaer (€ 9 million) and Diaby (€ 2.5m) serve a dual purpose. They allow the LOSC to honor its commitments vis-à-vis the DNCG having sold at least € 15 million players to enter the last year. After purchases Bauthéac (€ 2 million) and Kanon (€ 500,000), the leaders have to buy an envelope full of young people for the future. Yesterday they officially arrived Sehrou Guirassy, an attacker of 19, from Laval (34 games last season, 7 goals). LOSC confirmed an agreement for the next four seasons. He paid € 1 million to delight the nugget to the nose and the beard of other clubs, including St. Stephen who did the forcing to the end in this case. Guirassy is currently in training camp with Benjamin Pavard for Euro U19, which starts Monday. http://www.lavoixdunord.fr/sports/losc-mercato-guirassy-arrive-delaplace-s-en-va-ia182b204n2922723?xtor=RSS-2&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Edited July 3, 2015 by SikhInTrinity
