  1. Sorry for not replying sooner, 14 hour shifts & a pregnant wife & all. I dont buy into the whole "superfood" craze that's sweeping the fitness world/supermarkets, I'm the first to tell people it's all a marketing. So I don't buy into all that kind of garbage. Just as my views on paleo & all that kind of thing, I don't buy into it. So I don't just read a few articles & believe what I'm reading. My views have come from working with top nutritional people due to my horrendous food allergies, as well as my own experience with food/supplement companies ect Ive competed at pretty decent levels, I've been to world championships(only to view im afraid),Spoken to some of the best of the best in their sports. My point was that, in these types of circles no one will use a brand like MP because it's deemed "budget". Outside of the guys myprotein endorse, giving them money, free supplements & advertising I'm yet to see a single athlete use it. While that's not to say it makes out MP to make bad products, what it says, to me at least is that it can't be that good. Maybe your typical gym rat doesn't looks at it that way, but I do. I'm even taking about intermediate levels of sports, like regional qualifiers. Yes it's my view but I've seen X amount of good/decent/excellent people at their sport to know that means something. So it may grind your gears when people say that, but it does hold some truth. I may of been hasty saying their stuff was "awful" but I stand by that there's reasons behind their pricing & whatnot. From a personal point of view their whey has always been "awful" interms of how I've reacted to it, so maybe that's why I used that word. But I genuinely thought it was common opinion that's it's not the best & moving away from brands like MP/Bulkpowders has been very beneficial for me. As for grass fed, if anyone can be bothered then a read through this is interesting. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2846864/#!po=16.3043 (taken for article below) I do actually agree with you in that, again marketing the hell out of "grass fed" is a tad misleading but there are benefits. Supermarket/mass produced/low grade meat should pale in comparison to anything remotely better in terms of how it's kept/fed. While the benefits maybe minor, I think it's worth it. It's worth, to me at least squeezing anything I can out of my food to make my nutrition better. Not only has doing that made my day to day life better it's taken me (at the age of 35 & kind of late to the lifting world at 30 when I began) to being able to go to national champions. So again, to me it is worth it. Also a decent article on a lot of "healthy foods" http://jasonferruggia.com/healthy-food-sucks/ I've been lucky that my job has meant I can source such as these. So I believe that it's superior. I wasn't going to bother with replying, this is one of those times where we can post back & forth indefinitely but I'll post this in reply so I can "crack on" with how I go about my day. It's worked so far
  2. For each one calling it a myth there's those who say otherwise. So no I'm not wrong, it just depends on which you would believe. I go with the people who's been in the industry a long time with decades of experience. I also know elite lifters, whom have gone to represent this country & they wouldn't touch MP with mine or yours.
  3. Yup as I said, it's pricy. Your average gym bro will more than likely stick to what suits their budget & righty so...so don't get me wrong. MP stuff gives me a bad stomach as well, so I stick with the above or their biowhey which is cheaper. But I go the same route with meat. I probably eat less than most per day but I only buy local so I try to go quality over quantity. I think it's better eating 150g a day from organic sources than 250g a day on supermarket cuts (unless it's sourced well) Maybe awful was the wrong word. Like you said it suits those at certain levels of training. I noticed a difference switching to their range though.
  4. Well guy I know it's injecting it. Along with God knows what else :-/
  5. Majority of mass produced whey will come from cattle fed on grain. When they're fed grain it completely changes the amigo profile, that's just fact. It's not there natural food source. I source proteins from grass fed cattle, its pricy but of a better quality. Don't take my post as me being a dick, I work with (to a degree) with some companies & see just the amount of budget whey that gets processed. I'll say myprotein then maybe the best of a bad bunch. I genuinely believe this is about as good as your will get right now http://www.geneticsupplements.co.uk/EliteEvolution/OPTIMAADVANCED
  6. Yes & read it all. As I said, 5kg for less then 60. Can't be that good. Telling me this is better sourced than from grass fed cattle? Course it's not, much better companies not on that list.
  7. Don't really care for articles inside the fitness industry like that. They can twist it however they want to fit their agenda.
  8. When I saw the first picture of joker in this my first thought was "looks like something from a shitty nu-metal band"....opinion still hasn't changed
  9. Myproteins whey is pretty awful in general. Reason why you can get 5kg for under £60 This is an intra formula with fast acting carbs http://www.geneticsupplements.co.uk/EliteEvolution/WORKOUTFOOD2 A friend of mine has started doing insulin as part of his "stack" his missus has to wake up at 2am to make sure he's not gone into a coma. Absolutely mental.
  10. I've purposely dodged all trailers for this. I just can't bring myself to watch any of it, I hate every image I've seen.
  11. Put in a few hours on this. It's a bit chaotic (no surprise there with console players on a moba) but in all I think it could be a gem of a game. Anyone ne else pull the open beta down on ps4 early?
  12. Ah pork cracking...I love & loath it
  13. Yup a 11g dose is roughly like 9.7g of protein from the one I use. As Stevo/myself said they're good for certain things but as a main source of protein you have better options.
  14. I think its a common misconception that Bcaa's act like a pre workout, not saying that's what you wanted from them. More than a few people have said that to me & they aren't really a stimulation supplement. They're however very good if you train early am & want to sip through the workout. I train early & prefer to do so fasted, exceed is decent but sustain is prob the best intra work out. The company is only small but really do use quality, but it's pricy. I keep the Bcaa amount round 10g as I don't want an insulin spike/crash while I train. That's one thing with dosing highly win bcaa, if you do it to much you're constantly getting spikes which can leave you feeling crap. geneticsuppletment.co.uk Turkey steak....kill me now. Get a pork chop down you lad, fat doesn't make you fat
  15. Leucine tablets are a way to go but again it has to be dosed highly. One protocol is something like 6 tablets every 4 hours, so four times a day. I tried it, it's just a ball ache & youre just better off eating a bit more protein. Also shakes aren't really that highl in calories if you're taking them without a carb powder in there. But shakes are a stop gap, I only drink one when I absolutely have to due work, out for the day ect. They're kinda garbage compared to food.
  16. I'm not due an upgrade till December but am already eyeballing one of these. I can get by with a 6 but it's a little to big for one handed use for me. I don't have very big hands so I can just about use it. I watch stuff at work while on night/weekends, that's the only draw back for me with going smaller. But under the hood it's fantastic!
  17. I'm thinking of upgrading from my mini 2 to a iPad Pro 9.7. I have a laptop I'll get £200 ish for & the mother in law is having mini 2 off me so it's going to cost me roughly £200, not bad. But when I compare it to the air 2 I'm struggling to warrant the extra £150. I know the pros much faster ect but even so....has anyone picked up a pro since launch? I'm thinking I'll use it for some light gaming as well.
  18. I think it's a cracking handset, powerful but my issue is that the screen is still the same as it was in 2011.
  19. Domestically is did rather poorly at 100m, internationally it did ok with 270m. With its budget at 180m-ish in terms of profits it didn't really do that well. Hence why it's odd they're going back to it. It was great fun, I loved it.
  20. http://Edge of Tomorrow Sequel Finds Its Writers http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/04/08/edge-of-tomorrow-sequel-finds-its-writers I dont really know what to make if this. I absolutely loved the movie. The plot was great, the setting, the design ect & while it did well it didn't get the recognition it deserved in terms of box office but I don't really see the need to revisit this. The movie as a standalone was fine, quite surprised by this.
  21. Looks incredible, wish I had the patience for it
  22. I wouldn't do anything for a week that requires you to do anything that will stress it ie deadlifts & maybe even benching. Cold pack on it will serve you well, also hot/cold too. So 10 mins hot pack/10mins cold pack. Compression is also good, I'd recommend a compression band that you can use/keep for future injuries. Knees are like shoulders, you want to back off now while its not that bad because they can be horrendous to rehab. If anything leave anything to lower body taxing, a week missing some lifts won't hurt in the long run. Maybe even use all machines for your upper body to, even overhead press is still loading your entire body. http://www.pullum-sports.co.uk/resistance-bands/pullum-compression-band/prod_1016.html This is also worth a watch
  23. Got a new PR Today post illness & unable to train consistently for the last few months. 170kg on the deadlift for 12 reps, roughly a 235kg max off that (weight X reps x0.333 + weight) so pretty pleased. Actually not a million miles off a comp single. Felt good so I hammered it out, love wendlers 531 for knowing when to go at it/back off
  24. What I didn't get at first was they give you a tutorial, showing directions to press for prompts. What I didn't get wast hat you had to watch for something totally different from the "practice" run. Why make me practice something then completely change what those prompts look like with no explanation, I had no idea you were meant to press in the direct of random words on the screen. Before I knew what was going on it was over, like much of FF games it was all a bit random what was going on & the sequnce went by quickly. Maybe I missed something explaining that & no it wasn't hard. Didn't say it was, my issue is that it didn't make any sense....at first to me. I did just genuinely fall asleep during the blitzball tutorial though.
