Can't afford something don't buy it and be more aware of your financial reality - if this irks you then mobilise for serious social structural change instead of lying to yourself. Find it hard to feel sympathy for people who max out several credit cards. I guess for some it's a desperate means of staving off poverty but surely you're only going to make it worse :/ Can understanding borrowing for a house and if it's necessary a vehicle of modest costs. Everything else is just plain daft. As has been mentioned credit cards are only death traps to the people who lack self discipline. Used wisely they are a great tool. I buy everything on my credit card (large purchases) and clear it off at the end of the month. It gives me more security, it aids my cashflow and i'd rather use a credit card to pay for hotels abroad and book flights. In the theme of the thread - I don't get why people don't get credit cards! I don't understand why people who have very little knowledge of - or worse, any interest in - practically anything go on TV quiz programs. 'Pointless' is the most typical. "What sort of questions are you hoping for?" "Er, football, cricket, something sports related..." "What don't you want?" "Art, books, science, geography, politics... that sort of thing". I'm not being an academic snob, not everybody wants to learn stuff like that, nothing wrong with it. But if that's you, and you don't want to look like a total prat, DON'T GO ON A 'GENERAL KNOWLEDGE' QUIZ SHOW! Came to the last piece and I couldn't find it anywhere.
