CrackpotForeigner
What Off Topic so clearly needs is a thread devoted to stuff other people do, or wear, or eat, or enjoy, etc. that you think is bonkers. Kindof like a Religion thread, except including (but not limited to) all human activity in every possible field of human endeavour. People who don't think it's bonkers can then explain why it isn't, in fact, bonkers after all. I'll start, with a fairly trivial example: Sportswear. Why do people pay for branded t-shirts (etc.) made of plastic fibres that look crap and get smelly very quickly because of the plastic. Why not wear a nice cotton t-shirt or something? You can even wear one that shows something of your personality, if you have one.

ismail-villa
Why do people spend a couple hundred quid on a designer belt only for them to cover it with their top, like seriously.

Cotton t-shirts just absorb the sweat, proper sportswear is design to let the sweat pass through and evaporate.

I call marketing bullshit on that one. I reckon it's better to have the sweat on your shirt where it can cool you, which is the point of sweating in the first place. If sweat isn't absorbed by your shirt it just trickles down to your trollies where it can mature like a fine cheese.
donnie
Jennifer Lawrence - Yes I seen the naked pics and was impressed but the fsce does absolutely nothing. Had better one night stands. Not attractive in the slightest with her clothes on imo. Benedict Cumberbatch - He is a decent actor but really dont get what women see in him. Lets call a spade a spade, he is an ugly facker. I met him once and he wasnt a very nice guy. I asked him for an autograph but he headbutted me, spat at my face and fingered my girlfriend. He them told me to fack off. Butter really doesnt melt. The Big Lewbowski - It isnt very funny, not sure it was trying to be either. Just found it pointless and don't understand it's cult following. John Carew - Most over loved Villa player in my time. Had one good game in 10. Still would rather have him then shite like Kozak and Weimann but defo overrated. Porshche's - They look a bit shit to me. If you have the money then why not pay the extra for a Ferrari or save money and get a better motor like an Audi. Stink of midlife crisis or hair salon owner. Jay Z - He is awful and is pop not hip hop.

CrackpotForeigner
I'll try and help you out with these (if I can)(sorry). Jennifer Lawrence - I think it's about "fragile beauty", or my interpretation of what that means: She's not perfectly formed, but when she's in good shape she has a kind of look that has been achieved, rather than born with, which is kindof nice. Benedict Cumberbatch - He is a decent actor. Sorry to hear about him being so awful to you, but I hope your girlfriend was grateful at least. The Big Lewbowski - Is about the script and the acting: The magnificent Jeff Bridges and John Goodman acting out a script carefully and lovingly written by a pair of geniuses. I didn't laugh at all the first time I watched it, but like all the best comedy it gets funnier when you go over it again in your mind. "Nihilists, Dude. Say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism. At least it's an ETHOS" John Carew - I kindof see what you mean, but he's a Villa fan these days, and he did score 1 in 3 for us. Porsches - The flat six engine is the perfect design in terms of harmonic engine balance. All engines should be flat six. 911 or GTFO, though. Jay Z - Never heard of anyone called Jay Zed. CrackpotForeigner
The stone roses One good album. Only one. But it is a towering work of brilliance that gets better every time you listen to it, and I've listened to it about 7,000 times.
RichardCanning
Apple products - overpriced shite Modified cars - why spend money making your car look shit when you could buy a more expensive one if that's your thing People who work mental hours - I work 8 till 5 that's it, why do a job that you spend your whole life at, not many people on their deathbed say I wish I'd spent more time in the office Sky - Having ruined football they try to make out the league is competitive between all the teams, it clearly isn't

I never understand why women think it's attractive to have a ring stuck through their nose.

dAVe80
Modified cars - why spend money making your car look shit when you could buy a more expensive one if that's your thing This. There's a guy on my street who is an absolute word removed of the highest order. Needless to say he has a modified Subaru, that had a massive exhaust, that makes it sound like the end of the world, when he revs it. Which he does on every possible opportunity.
