You don't want to see anyone lose their job but this stuff of giving top former players the top job at big clubs ,in the main, doesn't work out. Look at Pirlo at Juve, having a mare by their own standards. And if you want to really call a spade a spade, Frank was lucky the land the derby job in the first place. Gerrard will get the Liverpool gig in a year or 2 also and he's managing at a level that nowhere near prepares him for that.

Abraham is a 30-40 million signing.

You don't spend that type of money because Watkins may pick up an injury. Pretty sure Tammy wouldn't accept playing second string either.

This signing simply will not happen. Nor should it.

I wasn't suggesting Tammy would be a second choice player. Surely we want a high calibre of competition for places if we want to become a top team? Also, it takes the pressure off Ollie a little. In some games we can play both of them.

so you would splurge 30-40m on Tammy rather than look for a better striker?

Yes he's a good striker, but i personally think we get too caught up on what he did in the Champ for us, i think for 30-40m there are numerous better strikers out there.

Didn't say that.

But the propability is very small.

Usually players who get injured a lot is no fluke. Owen mentioned his dad and brothers also sharing muscle injuries, the same once he picked up. Often times it's genetic.

Of course you could get unlucky and get the Wesley injury but again. Highly unlikely as those are super rare occurances.

The probability of him getting injured is not 'very small', come on. The idea that because this quite common occurence has not happened to him in the last 18 months it cannot/is highly unlikely to happen to him in the future is just a logical fallacy.

If we did go for Tammy, and I don't think we will, it should be as the main striker with Watkins pushed out wide, IMO.

I don't think Lampard should have got the job in the first place, but once he has the sacking is typical Chelsea. He's a rookie manager, why appoint him, knowing he has to learn on the job, only to sack him this early.

Wonder if this improves our chances if getting tammy? If we can get him and barkley in the summer man thats a different ball game

Yeah, we have been having this conversation over the last few pages. Villalad21 thinks it is a bad idea.

If Tammy or Mount get pushed down the pecking order that's a good thing for us. Both would be great signings.

Will probably push Barkley as well, stories was Lampard actually wanted to keep him but the club sanctioned loaning him out

If we replace Wesley with Tammy then we’ve upgraded our striking options and have 2 first team strikers. Not exactly an embarrassment of riches.

On the back of a win and a goal for Watkins it doesn’t seem like a priority. If Watkins pulls a hamstring and is out for 4 weeks then that’s 6-8 games without a striker. We’d most likely slide down the table.

We've been getting away with just Watkins for a long time, our luck will run out eventually.

Tammy ia definitely a ulgrade to wes. This injury to wes god knows what impact that would have him.

But tammy will fit into this team

We could play ollie on left with tammy up top.

While the style of play will improve in the short term, hiring Tuchel is absolutely guaranteed to end in disaster.

All just to try and make Werner/Havertz not completely useless.

ending in disaster is pretty much guaranteed for any manager who steps through the doors at Chelsea. They go through managers like an ablutomaniac goes through undies.
