Fabian Delph

Paul Lambert showed a lot of faith in Delph. By 2012 he'd been here 3 years, missed half of it through injury and didn't look very convincing in the first half of 2012 but Lambert stuck with him and was rewarded with some very good displays in 2013. Given the financial constraints many managers would've probably cut their losses and sold him on to get some decent money.

I doubt Delph was posting champagne bottles to teammates like some were doing when O'Neill left for example.

He's just going through a really poor run of form atm it happens.

Interesting that Delph says Lambert was great with the "majority" of the team.

What do you think he means?

Must be a reference to Ireland, Bent etc. even if it's referring to players still here too there will always be players who get on better with the regime than others, nature of the beast.

We've probably at least doubled this guys money, he simply need to show a hell of a lot more. He needs to be making more advanced runs and needs to drive forward more with the ball at his feet.

He's playing it far too safe.

No, we haven't.

Really? Wasn't he on like £30k before his deal? Not hard to imagine that he'd be given something in the Darren Bent territory given the interest he was attracting with 6 months to go.

He really is overrated, would have no problem cashing in on him in the summer. Offers nothing and all ive seen him do today was set up a Leicester chance

Harsh. He won a lot of the ball today. I thought he was very energetic especially in the 2nd half. Some people are so harsh, they remember when a player loses the ball but never seem to remember when they win it back. Delph won the ball at least 3 times in the 2nd half when Leicester were essentially starting a counter attack. Such important challenges. Not saying he was brilliant today but he did put a shift in. He can certainly play a lot better though!
